Typically only when they're as painfully bad as Shane and Ronda. It's a pretty low bar.

i also have not actually noticed a single bad worked punch from Ronda, put the average worked punch in slow mo and we’d have one of those gifs for literally everyone on wwe tv

 

Ambrose is a garbage striker

 

A Bayley/Ronda feud would actually be great. Bayley calling Ronda's "I always wanted to be in the WWE" fake, since she went and did MMA instead, and only came here after she was done.

I actually think they booked that Sasha/Ronda match to be one where Bayley would have done really well.

 

remember the hype we returned from his injury and now dude is losing the IC belt to Lashley and getting eliminated in the middle of the rumble by NXT dudes haha

 

This. And I remember the first time he was on talk is Jericho he was saying something along the lines of how he doesn’t want to work stiff and that he can make it look good without doing that. Yeah right

 

Think that is gonna start a Black/Ambrose feud though? Maybe? If it doesn't then Dean got geeked so hard.

 

Don't think Bayley could have been as vicious as she needed to. That was something only Sasha or Charlotte could have pulled off. and it was a large part of what made it good

 

The expectations I have are in line. I say Ronda sucks a lot but it's more "she sucks relative to where she is booked." I don't think she wrestles or entertains on a level that should put her in title pictures. I also don't know how many more times I can also say "shes been better than I ever thought she would be at this stage of her career in wrestling" and then have to answer more questions of her.

Does she meet the expectations for you? WWE brought her straight to the main roster to dominate a division with her first match at Mania against Triple H and Stephanie while getting the rub from Kurt Angle. Is her current ability good enough to have warranted all of those expectations put upon her?

For me, the WWE main roster should be the major leagues. I want the best workers, the best promos, the best that draw you in. I don't believe her promo's, she doesn't get me emotionally invested, and I think her work is average, IMO. She's athletic as fuck, she's got some nice transitions and she's on the road to being really good. But that doesn't mean she is now. I don't know. I think it's weird to be like "yeah, she's really green still but her athleticism bumps her into the average wrestling category" is a position that has to be defended. I get why people like her and why people think she's better than I think she is, I just don't agree or see it in that way.

I would rather watch, in no order, sasha, becky, charlotte, ember, asuka, maybe bayley. Alicia, too -- don't get it twisted, she gets these dumb ass gimmicks but she can work.This says nothing of the loads of women in NXT that I would much rather watch. And when you consider how little of the women's roster is utilized or relevant, then yeah, I think Ronda is an average women's wrestler for WWE.

 

I hope not - I'd hate for Ambrose to ruin Black's push right away

this is all totally fair, and i get having an issue with her being transplanted from MMA to the top spot in a different profession. but wrestling has been and always will be built on big attractions, and as far as attractions go, she has grabbed that bull by the horns and done well in a way i don’t think anyone else would have in her position. i think if Ronda was a nobody with no celebrity status that came in to NXT, paid her dues, and took three years to get to the main roster, she could be as exactly as green or great or whatever as she is right now and still deserve to be among the top of the division. because she is a freak athlete and a quick learner and i think she is in the top five main roster women. would she be this dominant, final boss she is now without the fame? no, but i think she’d be just as fit for main roster main event in a scene with two titles.

i will say that i only feel all i just said because she is here now and not in, say, two years. the amount of PC/NXT/NXTUK talent that can work better than Ronda on a weekly basis instead of a monthly one is just staggering. but right now, against who we have, i 100% think she is delivering and not holding a spot from someone more deserving or anything.
