He was second fiddle because people aren't emotionally invested in him, he's a cool character, cool energy, pretty good worker, but just doesn't have the 'it' factor.

 

no he was second fiddle because they put him in a feud with Lars Sullivan and decided the primary focus should be on Ciampa and Gargano. His rise to the title showed he could definitely get people behind him. But then they never even gave him a chance once he got the title.

 

That's true, his injury was really bad timing, and unfortunately bad timing can screw you over in that jam packed NXT roster that keeps filling up.

 

Felt like at first the injury actually helped. Gave Black some drive when coming back and allowed them to play out the Gargano heel turn.

But then instead of actually giving Black the ultimate payoff... they decide they want to do that. So now the whole injury angle just feels like a giant six month cock tease. Would've rather he just lost the triple threat and then maybe at least gone on to challenge for the NA title or something.

Wish he would've gotten into it 10 years ago.

He was fighting a can but that wrestling is legitimate.

Also R-Truth was gold

 

I mean, you could have beaten that guy.

 

Swagger would have been a better character if he looked like that from the get go.

 

Who knows, maybe Black stays in NXT a little while and settles it.

But he, gargano, and Ciampa feel like they are on a totally different show from everyone else. Like they can interact with Cole and Dream. Then you have the rest of TUE that kind of bridge the gap. But people like Keith lee and Matt Riddle don’t even feel like they are on the same show as Black, Gargano, and Ciampa. That’s why I’m saying those 3 gotta go up.

 

Also his size plays into it. The way he is presented on NXT makes me think he’s like 6’9 and an unstoppable force. But on the main roster he’s pretty short and smaller than most. You would have to tweak the character a bit for it to be more believable

It's tricky. Send too many people up and you risk turning NXT into what it was after Joe and Finn left where the roster honestly isn't that deep.

But its definitely true that Gargano and Ciampa are casting a very large shadow on the rest of the men's roster right now. And as good as their story has been, I'm far from convinced that shadow is actually a good thing for the overall good of the brand.

elimination chamber for the title - let's do this

 

I feel like their story has kind of run it’s course. They haven’t beat it completely into the ground yet but I am getting a bit tired of it. Hopefully this new turn brings me back into it

 

Need a way to figure out what happens to the NA title.

I'm thinking you set up HIAC next to the chamber. Once you're eliminated from the EC, you have to go into the HIAC match. Once you're eliminated from HIAC, you're gone. EC wins the NXT title, HIAC wins the NA title.

 

The idea's different, but that would be a logistical nightmare setup wise

 

Gotta do it in a Punjabi Prison match

 

If this was old school booking, we'd end up with both titles on the line in a multiple falls match.

I would be pretty upset at any of Black, Ciampa, or Gargano going up. I like watching then too much.

 

NXT knock it out the park again. Although being a massive Black mark, the ending left a sour taste in my mouth.

Also, I’m really not a fan on Belair and I can’t put my finger on why. She needs to be a heel, though. Working face didn’t work for me.
