So today is my last possible day to exchange my Switch at Target and decided "let's play a bit of Mario Kart to see if my joycon problems are all in my head."

10 seconds into my second race, my left joycon disconnected. My switch wasn't even 2 feet away from me, on its kickstand. Heading to Target tonight lol. Knowing my luck with technology, my next one will end up having worse issues heh.

 

so many joycons are broken. my plan of action is to order new ones from amazon and then file a return and send them the old ones.
this is a secure line right?

 

Glad I haven't had any Issues with my Switch, because when I sent of my Wii U to be repaired and they never got back to me, they replied eventually and said "the factory burned down" I couldn't find anything about this online. I think it's just Nintendo of Europe that sucks tho

Yeah it's a tough choice because people do seem to have random issues with them. I was talking to my buddy tho and he's never had the issues I'm having and he got his on launch day.

I hear Nintendo made some fixes in their joycons after a lot of warranty repairs of the left one. I wonder if I somehow got an older model of the console because it was the Mario Kart 8 bundle and I didn't think they still made and sold that bundle these days? Could be wrong.

that's exactly what happened to you. the newer joycon models have some additional foam inside that prevents this from happening.

 

Eventually they did. Took 2 months in the end.

 

I have no issues with my joy cons but, I use my pro controller alot which is a major PRO to having one, ya know?

 

Haha thanks that actually makes me feel a lot more hopeful, here's hoping they're willing to trade me a non-bundled version for the bundled version. I noticed the receipt says it has to be traded for the same piece of technology, but both were priced at $299 anyways

 

very unlikely that they can exchange it for a different SKU. Is getting a different bundle out of the question for you, and then re-buying MK8 on its own?

 

Hmm I'm not sure what you mean! Like you think Target would exchange it for some other kind of non-MK8 bundle instead of just the console on its own? Do you think I'd lose my MK8 download from the eShop if the code has already been redeemed?

Oh yeah it was a digital download bundle heh. Alright well I'll see how it goes anyway. Luckily when I went there last, the people in the tech department just seemed to hate their jobs and not really give a shit so I might luck out lol. They just took me on my word that Odyssey was priced lower online and just gave me a lower price without me even proving it to them.

Guessing I need a Nintendo online membership to save my game data huh? Luckily I don't have something like Splatoon or Pokemon that don't backup data

Yeah my left joycon drifts so much. I’ve been using my pro controller mostly lately but even the left joystick on that has been slightly drifting down lately so that also isn’t great

 

This is the same problem I have had. I blamed it on my students being too rough but it seems like it happens to a lot of people.

 

my left joycon is drifting and I just never bothered to fix it since I most usually the pro controller for everything.

my brother said it was terrible for Pokémon so he bought the poke ball joycon edition.

 

It has since lowered to $56.54 on there, which is weird since that article says $59

 

Even better. I should buy another haha. Then I’ll have plenty of controllers for Smash.
