i choose to believe Retro spent four entire years working on adding Funky to Tropical Freeze

 

He was too powerful to be contained in code in any shorter period

 

they also helped on MK8 as well as the Switch version of DKTF

The Prime 4 news makes me think there’s a new Retro game coming this year. They’re probably moving off a project at this point if they’re taking on Prime 4 from scratch.

 

Retro haven't released anything since Tropical Freeze in 2014(besides the re-release last year). Wouldn't surprise me if they had a game out this year at all

 

It's just another Nintendo port also with a new Funky mode.

A new Retro game is very likely a new Donkey Kong.. or some other 2D platformer.. but DK did so well

 

They were working on a new IP

Multiple different places working on the same project sounds like an absolute nightmare as a developer

 

It’s how Assassin’s Creed is made. Hell, most triple A games rely on heavy outsourcing to China and countries like Romania.

I wonder if that Star Fox racing game that was rumored last year is real. It was supposedly developed by Retro
