i know better than to express longing for a new third eye blind album this year but... i want one

 

that's what I want to know!! They said it would be new songs and deep cuts, I just want to know what they played.

The guys played a set at the Roxy last night in LA filled with new music and rarities:

Screamer, The Kids, Walk Like Kings, Turn Me On, Who Am I (I think? - didn't get clear look at this one), Mighty Victory, I Got So High, Light Me Up, Blade (Stephan acoustic), Slow Motion (Stephan acoustic), Song of the Siren (Stephan + Kryz acoustic), Narcolepsy, Non-Dairy Creamer, Anything, Forget Myself, Company, Blinded, Back to Zero, In the Fade, Palm Reader, Wounded Encore: God of Wine, Bonfire (reprise)

First 3 new songs are amazing. The rest are good too, but first 3 really stood out, as well as Who Am I (?). Based on lyrics I picked up, The Kids is about Parkland. Only one that was kind of iffy is I Got So High. I've heard the song from previous live shows and boots and it seems like they've shortened it and they do this weird slow down during the chorus. I don't know, maybe it'll grow on me. Love the lyrics to that one regardless.

As for the old songs, Forget Myself sounded great. They really need to add that to the normal rotation. Audience seemed really into it. And while not a super rare tune, Blinded easily was the best sounding song of the night. Brad killed it. Could not believe they played Company. Apparently not even the tech could either because he brought out Stephan a guitar thinking it was Company of Strangers, haha. Stephan also teased Persephone during the acoustic section, but didn't play it, which I thought was a little cruel.

They took everyone's phones so likely no boots will surface, but it was fantastic night.

 

Wow, we might actually get a studio recording of "I Got So High" finally?!

extremely fucked up that i'm not going to either the music hall or bowery ballroom shows

 

he hints at a summer tour so I'm hoping it's out by then, sounds like we'll know more in the coming week(s)

 

30 mins for 2 songs. I realize it's probably more of a talk sesh/interview thing but man that dude can talk talk talk. I didn't mind cause I'm at work bored anyway haha.

He only played 2 when I ran into them in Tampa at Innovation Brewery, haha. It was cool though.
