That song doesn't get enough respect. I love it.

6 weeks spread out over June and October is definitely how you avoid getting burned out or being away from your kids for too long.

"...It feels really good to kinda have a chance to re-approach the way that you are a band, the way that you go about doing that..."

I love this part from "If We Could Only See Us Now" as Teppei is practically falling over.

Yes, I know what your saying. Their website is also world wide, Seneca made an official release and the Atlantic loop didn't.

The band has made some interesting choices that touch on past work though. Doing two songs about the Icarus story years apart, referring to old songs like they did in Anthology, Disarmed and Salt and Shadow have a Red Sky feel.

I wouldn't rule it out if they have an "a ha" moment with the song. Or maybe they are just over trying it.

It's not like we're asking the to re-record Milly Michaelson how they play it live (although that would be awesome, even though the original is one of my favourite songs).

'Seneca' could function as a recurring motif for the next record before it expands into something... more.

Again, I love when records pick up where they left off *to some degree*. Segues can tie everything together in this fashion. One of my favorite bands does 5 or 6 segues per record and their first record in two decades started with a segue that picked up where the last segue ended 20 years prior.

I can't believe someone would object to this when all we've heard is a 6-second arpeggio on loop with a couple lead tracks layered on top.

The most common critique I've heard about this record is that they wished Seneca was fleshed out.

Wow! That makes sense then... Being the Thrice fanboy that I am though, I wouldn't ever miss them if I had a choice.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

Doubt I'll make this next tour. Had a really great time last week, but I'm getting married in November and don't really need to be spending any extra money on shows. Plus, La Dispute supporting again is kind of disappointing.

My buddy just texted me that they're playing at The Warfield in SF so I'm def going. Also I would enjoy seeing LD again.

I like La Dispute but I would love to see them tour with Caspian or O'Brother again.

Actually yeah considering I missed O'B set on the farewell tour I would love it be them.

Yes, it is amazing. As for the symbol, I thought it was the bands logo until this album where they added more lines in the middle?

    Couldn't agree more!

Yes 10000x. The Pageant is my favorite venue, the sound is so good. Pops wasn't terrible when they came touring M/M but this will be so much better.

That's me right now. I have a vacation in a couple weeks, warped tour after that, Deftones in August, and Blink in September. As much as I wanna see Thrice Sunday, I really need to save up some money this summer and not go into the fall broke from shows and stuff.

Caspian would be the perfect combo for Thrice, but they have a fall headliner already planned.

I can't believe that you can't seem to grasp the simple concept that someone just isn't interested in hearing the same idea, despite being "expanded," on another record.
