Oh. I always assume many people in bands have families with pretty deep pockets or at least are well off.

I wonder what his dad did to be able to drop 100k like that. That's so much money, and not even necessary, haha.

I never got super into cute is what we aim for but a few weeks ago I found a mix cd I'd made with them on it and it was unpleasant.

I don't think I've ever seen a band perform badly at least not the one I came to see, but I've had crowds make shows way worse. Still bitter at modest mouse for being so late and then like rambling incoherently the entire time lol and the crowd sucked. Brand new crowd also sucked. Never seen so many grown men push and shove so many women to try and get up close. Did not have the close community vibe at all.

Back when Emery played those tiny shows it was something special, but I couldn't imagine having to deal with those crowds while on crutches. You're brave.

Not sure but If I had 100k I would be able to record like 50 full albums.

I knew a girl whose dad paid for them to record and go on tour with this huge bus which was so unnecessary. They were called Two Week Notice and I enjoyed their music but I can't find anything about them on the Internet period. No music, videos, nothing.

Yeah, I'd prolly build my own studio, and then have unlimited albums.

I think stupid is a better term than brave haha I fell instantly in love with them when their keyboardist almost knocked himself out while rocking out so hard.

he's the best. i saw them at this tiny club in seattle in 2010 (when they were still playing heaven in atlanta, so that was weird) and there was a pole in the middle of the stage and his dancing around it made my night. time to go listen to the weak's end and the question.

Thursday is still the best live band I've ever seen. And every time I'd consider letting another band have the top spot I'd see Thursday again and they'd reclaim their throne as if to laugh at me for ever doubting they were the best!

I'm listening to some songs off of The Curse now. Such a huge change. Reminds me of what Eighteen Visions did. That made me cry.

I was always bummed that, in a two year period, I saw them six times and they played the exact same set every time.

i got that album for christmas one year and the cover is some vampire in lingerie. that was an awkward morning.

Har Mar Superstar opened for Incubus once and we couldn't figure out if it was a joke or for real.

My friend said at the Young The Giant show the other day, there was this band that opened for them that announced "We're so excited the venue is letting us play our FULL ALBUM tonight". Everyone goes crazy and then they played the single 3 times in a row, another song, then the single like 3 more times. Seems like it would be very annoying but my buddy said the crowd was cracking up.

The album after that one was very much a return to form for the genre! I'll stan for In Shallow Seas We Sail forever.

Reel Big Fish does this all of the time. People shout BEER a lot so they just do this to piss them off.

If Yeezy and Hov can play "* in Paris" 13 times in a row, anything can happen.

I remember Drew being really high on it. I think I'm a little passed trying to get into more stuff from them. Maybe some day.

Honestly I don't think I go to shows enough to notice similarities in setlists. I saw Thursday like 4 times over a few years and I don't remember what their set list was haha I just remember them putting on the best shows. I've seen ppl say the same about fall out boy, but I've never noticed or cared with them either. But I'm sure if I went that many times I'd notice lol! I think I've only ever had one set list at a show stand out as being amazing, but usually I don't take much notice.

Oh definitely. They put on an amazing show. Geoff is unreal with his charisma. It was just so funny hearing the story about At This Velocity so many times. lol. But yeah, seeing him swing from chandeliers and stuff is always awesome.

Thrice basically played the same set for five years. I got so bored with it. I'm glad they play so much of the new album and even one from Identity Crisis now.
