Man, I do not give The Reverend from Avery enough turns in my beer drinking. Such a great quad.

have you been before? thinking about going, but I don't fully understand the whole process and I don't want to drive an hour and a half out of my way to be disappointed cause they sold out.

I haven't. They update their website with what's on tap/in cans daily so I'd hope it's fairly accurate. I hear it's a pretty smooth process with like, a card system of some sorts

right, right. I just don't know what would happen if I get there past them selling out of cans for the day. does the place just close or what? I'll try to figure it out, hopefully.

FWIW from their website they adjust can/growler limits with no discretion to ensure that that doesn't happen

When are you trying to go? Basically, it tends to work like this:

-Arrive weds between 11 and 4 get all cans offered that day after about a 45 min wait (no growlers and recently they have sold out and closed a little early but that's only happened a couple times)
-Arrive Thurs any time, Weds cans will run out at some point, Thursday can should last until close, and growlers will last until close but be a 2 hour wait
-Friday is same as Thursday only weds cans will def be gone and it'll be the Thursday variety that runs out before things are over
-Saturday minimal cans left if any, 2ish hour growler wait if there's still multiple options left

Ultimately, getting there about an hour before open on Thursday is probably your best bet for getting the most different beers

Fwiw I don't think they've ever lowered the can limits once the day has started. They definitely close early on Saturdays often and Wednesdays it's happened a couple times.

    right, right.

awesome, thank you. I would probably be going on Wednesday then because I'll be on a road trip with nowhere to store the growlers. thank you a lot though. this helps a ton.

as for specific dates I'm going, it'll be on the 29th or 30th of this month.

Yeah, if not doing growlers and able to arrive before 6pm Wednesday is a no brainer. Usually you can get 6 & 6, and since they're open much earlier and longer that day there will likely be less of a crowd at any given time.

I can't wait to get out there to there and BT's over the summer.

Also want to combine it with a Six Flags trip but not sure how to do that logistically (ie. keeping beer in car all day)

As long as you get there early you shouldn't have a problem at all.

This is pretty spot on. The line will always be long but they are super quick and efficient (the opposite of Other Half's releases which take hours), especially for can sales. I've only gone on Saturdays and once on a Thursday. The Thursday we went Julius cans sold out while we were in line, so we ended up with Green and Bright (which was fantastic and might be my favorite Tree House offering to date). It was the Thursday before extreme beer fest in Boston though so it might have been extra busy due to that. Never had cans run out on Saturdays (from the prior day's update that is) but we've always gotten in line before 11am; usually about an hour before - though I've heard it's gotten crazier since the last time I went.

You should have no problem getting whatever cans they have available on Weds, though it's usually only one or two at most. Thursday there are more options but it's busier + growlers. I'm hoping to head up there July 1st, so save some for me! ;-)

when you say one or two at most, do you mean there are only one or two options available? are there more options available for cans on thursdays?

thanks for answering all of these questions!

So jealous of this Tree House availability. I'm trying to figure out a good time to head down to Ohio to grab some Hoof Hearted.

Usually it's two different beers in cans on weds, 5 or 6 of each per person. Thursday they add one additional beer in cans at usually at a similar limit and if Wednesday isn't a sellout, you can get 3 per each of the Wednesday varieties until they run out. They have been doing 4 different beers in cans a week but at this point they basically never have more than 3 of them still on at the same time and that time would only be early on Thursdays. They do tend to have 4 or 5 growler options at any given time too though so you might miss the cans from Wednesday but be able to get a fill of them later in the week.

Probably doesn't matter for you if it's your first time going but they seem to do the main lineup beers like Julius, alter ego, green more on weds and the less frequent ones on thurs and friday

right now it's looking like I won't be able to get there until Friday, if at all. it's not really close to anything that we'll be going to up in New England, unfortunately. can you drink at the brewery at all? not familiar with Massachusetts's alcohol laws. if I can't get there until friday, I might not go at all because I won't be able to keep a growler cold enough while driving all throughout New England and it sounds like there might not even be cans.

edit: nevermind, looked on their website. can't drink at the brewery at all besides tastings. damn.

@Surfwax answered below, but yes they do canning on Weds and Thurs so they'll release new cans later in the week.

Pretty spot on, I also think @Joe Deegan if you're going any day other than Weds you absolutely want to get some growlers (especially if they happen to have Good Morning when you're there, and that's what I'm hoping for as I'll be there the same week!) Note that you have to get the Tree House labeled growlers though, they don't fill other breweries growlers per MA laws.

Yeah they only do tastings, which sucks because they recently added picnic tables and cornhole to the outside area, so it'd be a pretty solid place to hang. Their goal with opening their new space a few towns over next year will be to have a large tasting room with full pours available.

Also, not sure why people worry about growlers getting warm. Unless you're going to cool it and warm it multiple times you'll be fine. I've never had a problem. I've shipped growlers before.

They release a beer in cans Friday a lot of the time (this week being an exception) so there is a good chance there will be two different beers in cans that Friday. I was only recommending thursday if possible cuz that's the one day there's a good chance at 3 cans being available.

Have you had Trillium stuff yet? They're only bombers and growlers so they're not as good as Tree House on price but the beer is as good imo. Also sold in a decent handful of stores in MA now.

I get paranoid about warming beer up for fear of "skunking" it, but I guess there's no problem with warming it up. would i be able to put it in the fridge after a few days of it being warm?

right right. well, hopefully, they'll have a good amount of cans in two weeks! looks like I'll be going there on the 30th then.

I've never had any Trillium, haven't heard of them before actually.

thank you both for all of your help! really going to try to make this happen.
