We talk too much / We talk in circles

And you guys still don't know what the word means...

Stopping in to say I love hold up a light and calling it objectively the worst is objectively wrong.

I was (probably poorly) parodying a Mike J comment where he compared the band to a restaurant.

That was when I taught you the meaning of the word entitlement. Hoping your favorite band does this or that is no different than hoping your favorite restaurant has Lobster Bisque on the menu the next time you attend.

Today, Thrice served Beef Barley and the majority of their patrons weren't happy.

I will be okay. everything Supporter

I think a branch in the river is both a better song than hold up a light and would also be a better single

    I just watched the video.
I again feel like I’m out of the loop. Just don’t get it.

Watching the video now. It's meh. Doesn't really do the song justice.

    I do not exist.

I like the song even if it isn't the best on the album. I can definitely see why the label would choose it as a single.

Historically thrice have not had great videos. I kind of expect it at this point. Luckily I'm here for the music, the videos are just a bonus when they turn out good.

All That's Left was a solid video. But yeah, mostly I agree.

I'd say their good videos are:
Deadbolt, Betrayal Is a Symptom, All That's Left, Stare at the Sun, Image of the Invisible, Red Sky, Come All You Weary and The Grey

Promises is shot well and has such intentional, but is edited terribly. For a band that kills it live, they never had a video really show how hard they go live which is a shame.

Their only good music video is the entire live at the house of blues dvd

Jk but i really love that dvd. Gotta find where that’s hiding

I've watched that so many times that you could show me any song on mute and I could tell you what song they are playing from the lights and edits. I'm not even embrassed.

ok I just listened to the single version. Why on earth did they remove every second "hold up a light" repeat in the post-chorus? It sounds way worse and I don't see how it makes it more commercially appealing either, so...

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Disappointing and also very very likely

They found their niche that brings them success, which, good for them, I just will have zero interest in it

    Someday I’ll find me Prestigious

This is where I am. I think I just have to accept that they’re in the business of supporting their families first and foremost at this point in their careers. I should be grateful that they’re still making music at all. Straightforward jams probably won’t open up and impress upon my musical pallette in the future, but that’s okay.

For what it’s worth, I though they did a lot of great things on Palms, even if my desire to return isn’t high.

Palms is the most weird the band has gotten in 10 years. Dear god, they have one song that sounds like radio rock, stop everything. :scream:

I actually like the change. I think the album version is way too repetitive.

Outside of like two songs there isn't really much that's "weird" but okay
