I forget if I shared this here or not but I was looking for an editor on a project I was overseeing back in 2011 and came across this dude that applied. I was so fucking stoked. Sad face.

 

Better than that incredible Foo Fighters documentary?! WTF!

 

Get him in here to tell us everything he remembers. Now.

 

Man that post is.....depressing.

Unless I'm way out of the loop, I can't even think of a reason why the blinkumentary thing never saw the light of day. All I remember was that the Facebook page eventually said "The band isn't happy with it", and they finally announced it was dead in the water.

I know they probably still fought a lot back then but it's not like they didn't get enough good footage considering they said it was basically done. Maybe they didn't want to release something that pretended like they were best friends when they were possibly on the verge of breaking up. Could have also just been that Tom was his typical procrastinating, control freak self.

 

Mark’s trolly IG story post with Feldmann is pretty funny.

No one seems to have anything from that show (it was the first of the tour from what I can remember). It was played super fast, with only Mark talking. Rumour is that’s the show where they had the backstage fallout which explains a lot.

 

I wish the guys who did that blinkumentary would just release it

 

He should just accidentally leak it at this point. Maybe if we all message him on instagram hahaha.

 

You can’t really tell there were any tension or issues between the band from listening to any of the bootlegs in 2003 or 2004. The only thing that really stands out is the lack of back and forth banter which they really didn’t do at any concert. But nothing is really noticeable or sticks out.

I think the closest awkward moment between Mark and Tom during that period was a clip that’s on YouTube from a show in I believe Japan and Mark seems annoyed because Tom keeps talking and talking and Mark and Travis are waiting to play a song. Mark finally tells him to stop talking and play.

 

I haven’t been able to find it in forever, but my favorite clip of there being obvious tension is one of their later shows post-reunion. Tom is doing his metal growling voice during “First Date”, and it pans over to Mark who does a visible eye roll and head shake. I used to lose it every time.

 

Oh ya that's right it was the summer before pop disaster! My mistake. I remember when the power cut out like two or three songs before the end and my buddy wanted to leave but I was like "the show isnt over until dammit" so many people left than the lights came back and they finished the set

Also Tom throwing guitars into the Atlantic was fun

Haha ya I shelled out over one hundred to see them in 2016...

But then I ended up seeing them at the free secret Spotify show in manhattan and sold the Jones beach tickets

 

It'll be in time to hype up for a summer tour. I'd predict somehwere near the two year anniversary of the btd release.

A lot of us are still here so I'd imagine so. The album cover reveal hype...man that was fun.

 

Hell yes. I mean the hype in the weeks leading up to California was such a positive and fun time. Probably the most fun I’ve had on chorus.

 

The excitement on forums like this before release is half the fun!!

The days when "Bored to Death" leaked and when the album sort of started leaking (with all of those low-quality video clips) but none of us had it yet... Oh boy. The hype in here was unreal. Nothing else like it.

 

Oh yes those were the Good Old Days. And the weeks leading up to release as we got more info and a couple song teases...this thread was in prime form and full of fun

 

The only thing that matters is we're getting new blink this year. Also pre release hype is when im really feeling this thread.
