So I only just found out that the GameCube controllers work with Mario Kart 8 on the switch, too (thought they only worked for Smash). Anyone know of other great games that support it? Thinking a $20 third party GC adapter is better than dropping $80 on a pro controller.

The GC controller really is the most comfortable controller ever made IMO

 

3DS the goat for streetpass, please bring back streetpass by any means necessary

True. I just really liked how 3DS gave you access to 3DS, DSi, DS, Gameboy and NES games. That's a huge library. Granted it wasn't full, but it was all the good games. Vita had some PSP but a lot of PS1 and minis and such.

 

The GC controller felt custom made for my hands haha. It's so perfect

 

As much as I love the Pro Controller, the GameCube Controller was just wonderful. Definitely my favorite controller. How the triggers curve to make your fingers feel comfortable was a great touch.

Exactly, I love those huge L/R triggers. Having a giant A button is nice for something like Mario Kart when you're holding the button down the entire round, too. It's a bit more comfortable than the tiny A button on a joycon

 

Pro Controller beats out the wavebird for me mostly because of the battery life.

I've been playing either handheld or docked mode with the pro controller.

 

Hyped there’s a demo for Octopath. Pretty cool so far. Loving the music and actual voice acting. Started with the thief Terion.

Edit: really digging this.. man I haven’t played a turn based RPG in so long. The art style. Really dig that boost feature during battle. Giving you multiple hits. The thief gimmick of being able to steal from people you can talk to is such a cool gameplay addition for such a generic old skill.

Contemplating dropping 41 for this on the eshop

Do it. I picked it up on a black friday sale and am loving it, such a fresh and fun take a classic genre. All of the characters and their stories are great for different reasons. I love those out of combat skills, I have gotten a lot of upgrades and useful items as a thief from people in towns.
