I just don't find those songs interesting at all anymore so I don't think Dustin's improved vocals could save those songs for me.

Same here. It took me forever to realize that those thumping noises at the end was someone shoveling dirt onto a coffin. Gave the song a new, somber perspective for me.

Yeah, the took the mic out of the studio and buried it during the song. What's more earth than that.

I'm doing a complete run through of the whole discography right now, I always forget how much I love the alchemy index. When listened to in full, you get to experience so many sounds and I think it was important for them to kind of deconstruct and see all of the different things they can do.

I've come to view it as one piece, rather than four separate pieces. I think that's why I had such a hard time ranking them.

It's my favorite from Earth. That song is sick.

Favorite track on Earth. However, I come across far too many people who don't realize it's Frodus.

When I first heard it, I didn't know it was a cover and I thought it would be my favorite thrice song of all time bc of how well it fit on the ep. Still love it but it took something away from it back when I found out it was a cover.

Smokes the original, right? That's the thing about Thrice, their covers almost always crush the source. For the record, I don't like The Beatles, but I like The Beatles by Thrice. (Zeppelin and Sabbath were more my speed.)

Heck, there was a time when "Send Me an Angel " was unstoppable in Orange County.

Question: Did Tom DeLonge steal the music box idea from Thrice? I'm sure Thrice weren't the first but AvA did theirs a year after Thrice.

Just listen to the OG. Thrice did a really great job at interpreting it into something of their own.

I try not to get too wrapped up in the "this is my album of the year" thing too early, but this record is addictive.

The Long Defeat is very inspirational sounding. Black Honey sounds menacing. Blood in the Sand sounds even better in the context of the album. Hurricane is such a big opener for a band post hiatus. I just keep ending up finding different songs from this record in my head. Again, album production sounds great.

Wish they had released that one b-side they had done for this album already and I wish Seneca had been flushed out more.

That B-Side is bound to come out and pretty much everybody wishes they had fleshed out 'Seneca.' They tried initially.

I was thinking they could do 'Seneca Part II' or 'Seneca The Younger' on their next record. That way, they can build it out more since we've only heard one part looped every 6 seconds or so.

I think it'd be really weird and to see them rework Seneca for another record. I'd much rather just listen to music I haven't heard before.

Bands have expanded on their segues before and I think it would feel new if structured like a real song. You've only heard one arpeggio repeated every 6 seconds, in essence.

I just really want to hear what they could do with it. I'd like to hear an arrangement of just Dustin's voice and that guitar tone; kinda like AFI's "The Leaving Song," only better.

An expanded 'Seneca' is also something they could do on that "Best Of" acoustic record that I've been clamoring for as Teppei would likely play a clean tele during some of their songs while Dustin played an acoustic. Dustin's falsetto was meant for that arpeggio! (Once again, I'm projecting my desire to hear an expanded 'Seneca.')
