Lol what do you REALLY think

 

I started with season 2 and hated it. Then I decided to watch season 1 after and I think season 2 influenced my season 1 viewing.

 

First season is decent, has some real positives... but also some real negatives. The second season is a complete waste of time.

 

first season is great

ending is a little bathetic tho

 

Idris Elba and Rachel McAdams are strong positives

 

She can’t save season 2 lol

 

It tried to play it off like it was some super deep show but it was fairly shallow IMO. It was just an extremely typical crime show where dudes play hero

 

I think I was confused about who is in the show

 

third season looks promising but I'm going in wary as I'm sure most people are

 

I'm going to participate in this conversation by adding that I haven't seen any movies or TV shows. If it's a comedy that helps ur chances but otherwise ur fucked

 

Captain Holt may be my favorite character Michael Schur has ever created

 

Heres something I wrote out on reddit (I know lmao) to try and explain how I felt watching season 1:

its got a lot of problems. the detective plot is completely backseat to the character drama and it wouldnt have had redeeming qualities on its own. the nihilism stuff is completely insincere and it reeks of immature edginess, there to look and sound cool but zero thematic weight. not to mention the equally cringe machismo stuff. watching through it, the season became 65% an unintentional comedy. some of the screenplay is so bonkers in the most stupid and funny way; “the perpetrator is a flying spaghetti monster.”

 

I have faith in Mahershala Ali to deliver a strong performance... I'm not confident the show will be any good though.

 

Who really has the time

 

The thing is that I do, I really do at least for a little while longer but my attention span is so fucked pretty much just listen to music and scroll/post

 

s1 may still be worth watching. I dont regret eatching it. Its weird, its like I sorta enjoyed watching it but I also sorta hated it and think its totally hack-y.

Ive been watching 90 Day Fiance, King of the Hill, and Fargo

 

season 1 is fine. the acting and fukunaga do the heavy lifting when the writing tries to get ~~DEEP~~ and it's generally an entertaining ride.

season 2 though, unredeemably awful. vince vaughn's character is one of the worst written characters i've ever seen on a show, some of the dialogue that comes out of his mouth...

season 3, i'm curious but not at all hopeful for. ali should be excellent and david milch wrote (co-wrote?) an episode so i'm in for that alone.

Pretty much only show I've been watching is King of the Hill. Didn't "get" it back in the day when I watched it as it aired w/ Family Guy, American Dad, etc. but truly it is a national treasure.

 

I've been watching Buffy on and off for years and I'm now on season 3.

I rewatched the first 3 episodes of New Girl last night while cleaning and that was pleasant

 

I just finished Succession it was v good

 

Laura liked season 1 I think and y'all's tastes are pretty in line for TV/movies
