My absolute favorite is selecting like 3-4 records that all elicit the same general mood and then just rallying them while working on a puzzle. Bonus if there’s a good beer or maybe some pot involved.

 

My favorite thing to do is to throw on ones I love to sing at the top of my lungs and then do so while doing chores. There may or may not be air guitar involved sometimes

Oh, a drink while listening to my record player is a MUST. My record player is directly across from my craft beer fridge in my basement. The two go hand in hand.

 

And then when the record ends you are like BEER DOWN! And slam your beer down

 

My friends I recorded from Seattle called WEEP WAVE are releasing their new album on vinyl in 2 weeks. they set up a pre order. They have a modest mouse meets psychedelic garage rock feel to their sound. Anyway I really love how this vinyl turned out. It's a concept record with audiophile stuff between songs about how the seasons in the NW affect your mental state. Check them out.

Can anyone please recommend me some basic vinyl care products that I should have? Like an anti-static brush, etc. Right now I don't have anything.

 

A stylus brush and a vinyl vac

 

A vinyl cleaning kit of some kind. Helps with taking the factory finish and debris off of the packaged vinyl. I have been using this kit by RCA to some success:

And one of the best investments would be to ditch the generic inner sleeves and replace them with poly-lined ones.

Yea I buy the MoFi Inner and Outer sleeves. A little pricey but they are worth it. If the records are stored in artwork sleeves I just tuck those into the outer MoFi sleev behind the outer vinyl sleeve and put the records in the MoFi inners inside the jacket.

The outers are so nice looking compared to the shit I used to store my records in.

Looks like you can cancel whenever, it’s the Groove bundle. Pick 4 records from a selection of 13. Includes Mitski, TV on the Radio, The National, etc. was only $53 after shipping and taxes. Great deal ($13.5 per) when they go for $23-$29 on VMP.

 

I like Bespoke Post, albeit I have skipped about the past 6 months of boxes. It’s a great deal but not enough there to make me do the Groove box.

 

Was an even better deal when I actually said fuck it and cancelled and they offered me $15 off.
