agreed. it felt like i was watching a film student’s submission to a class. but like, a potentially promising student.

 

It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie, what’s the significance of the $30?

 

Watched Bird Box again and whilst it wasn't scary, it was a thrilling ride. One flaw is MGK being cast though, he was just .... fine. Nothing special .

 

That was just an added bonus to the gift that amused me. The implications only come from the fact that the family matriarch was the giver.

Started watching Bird Box. Will finish tomorrow maybe. We (4 of us) were interested in it but it is way too bloated and with 40 minutes left we were restless and thinking there was only 10 minutes or left but we were very wrong lol. Doesn’t help that I’ve read the book so any potential twists and turns are known to me unless they decide to change course from the book.

That Kelly guy is only in the film in a very limited role with limited lines and he didn’t stand out to me as being super awful or anything.

 

Bird Box seems too close to A Quiet Place in both concept and release date.

 

To be fair though, Bird Box the book was written in 2014, two + years before the first script of A Quiet Place was written.

 

Well then I guess it's unfortunate that I like Emily Blunt but not Sandra Bullock.

 

I finally got around to watching "mother!" tonight.
I know it's been a pretty divisive movie, but I loved it.

 

You either love or hate that movie, no exceptions

 

Yeah, I hated it. Actually stopped watching it and just Wikipedia’d the rest. Glad I did because what I ended up reading didn’t sound very interesting imo

 

Mother! was insane and very good

Mother! is one of my favourite theatre experiences, it was such a blast

 

Not generally a Von Trier fan but I loved the House that Jack Built. Surprisingly funny as hell.

 

I just watched Better Watch Out. Wow

I thought it was just gonna be a fun home invasion movie but man was I wrong.

 

Birdbox was awesome. It was what The Happening should have been.

 

I caught about ten minutes of Bird Box because my cousin was watching it. Found it to be pretty awkward, but maybe I'm just not going in with an open mind.

edit: it was probably pretty early in the movie, though, because I didn't see any kids.

 

Can't wait to see Us with just me because my gf doesn't like horror movies lol

 

i think about The Guest almost weekly and I saw it like 4 years ago. The music in that movie has shaped what I enjoy in music since then. That's all. I had to share it somewhere since there isnt a Guest thread.
