The distance to sail from the Iron Islands to Meereen is sooooooo far. I mean I want them to just advance the plot and have them show up already but it's so unrealistic.

  2. Yeah, but weren't Theon and Yara already in Volantis 2 episodes ago? Arrival in Mereen sounds very likely next week, if the whole episode doesn't take place in the North.

As far as general timelines in the show, I am very forgiving of "quick travel" for the sake of furthering plotlines. I don't go in with the assumption that every event in an episode is happening at the same time anyway. When we see Tyrion sending off Varys in Mereen, I don't assume he's doing that on the same day that Jaime is meeting with Brienne in Riverrun. I mean, we already know that we're seeing sporadic highlights from the months and years long events, why assume that we're looking in on what happens in a 1-2 day span per episode, instead of that we're just seeing a collection of highlights that took place "generally around the same time".

They already sailed all the way to Volantis in one episode.

  6. Correct, as I was not threadbanned for flipping out when people criticized the show.

So can everyone agree that Cersei will not die this season? Her trial is happening, and isn't it safe to say her punishment will be death? Even if that's the case, will it happen?

    The Real Azor Ahai

It's been pretty obvious from the beginning of the series that Cersei will be one of the last few characters to die

You really think so, though? Jamie needs conflict after this is all said and done, what else is there for him? He wants to be with her, but what if she's not there? Jamie is reaching the point where he has nothing left to do.

    Tommen? Yes, I agree.

Well ok, if Tommen dies, who takes over as King? Are there other Baratheons?

well gendry, but he probably is not coming back and would have to be legitimized by tommen.

Alright, so who's next in line if no more legit Baratheons?

I definitely don't see Cersei dying until closer to the end of the series. Jaime is really up in the air because asking what's left for him to do after Riverrun is a good question. I'd love to see him last longer, but I have no clue what he has left to do in the show.

This is more of a prediction than it is any actual concrete evidence since Jaime is practically at where he is in the books now, but I'll put this in spoilers just in case:
I like the theory/prediction that he is the Valonquar and not Tyrion, so perhaps he'll be the one to kill Cersei if he were to return to King's Landing only to find it in ruins because of Cersei. Of course, he'd need to get away from LSH in the books, but we all know LSH is up in the air leaning towards probably not happening in the show anyway so perhaps Jaime stands a better chance at surviving longer after all.

Since I forgot about the Jamie thing regarding him being the heir, it would be awesome to see him in the Throne.

  19. Regardless, a peaceful/logical transition of power after Tommen's eventual death wouldn't make sense anyway. We've already seen that happen in the show and it'd be pointless to progress the plot by just shoeing in the next monarch in line. Tommen's death, from a literary standpoint, pretty much has to coincide with either Dany or the WW's arrival in the Seven Kingdoms, or at least some other massive chaotic event. It has to be something where the lack of a King and the power vacuum caused by it is still second in importance to a bigger threat. If this series really only has 16 episodes left now, less politics and more pewpew is coming upon us quickly.

*I believe this to be true of the show, but not necessarily the books. Then again, who knows if the books will ever see an end, considering the rate at which they are released/written.

I agree that I don't see anyone else sitting on the throne. I don't even think there will be a Hand of the King either to take over temporarily until it all gets sorted out.

I think cersei survives the whole series but that will be her punishment because everyone she loves will die.

You add so much helpful dialogue, and I didn't flip out. I simply didn't agree with petty complaints that bring down the discussion.

The problem with the Cersei story now is that they have no right to the iron throne. It seems that the real king/queen to the throne is the dragon queen at this point. I'm pretty sure all the other rightful heirs have been killed. But at the end of the day I guess it doesn't matter, it's whoever has the most powerful army.

Kinda wished they showed Arya win the fight. She never stood a chance in their training sessions and now after being stabbed and weakened she wins. Interesting.
