some more cool stuff with the band that did If I Could Only Remember My Name and Blows Against the Empire. Beautiful stuff.

  2. tbh the mountain song from this could be a top song in any of these people's discographies. wow. haunting

  5. quiz: can you hear the 4 different teases going on in this version of GDTRFB? the two freebies are the "Bid You Goodnight" one that they often do at the end of that song, and then the last bit going back into NFA. But once they speed back up after the Bid You Goodnight bit, I can hear 2 different songs being teased before Billy and Mickey send them back into NFA, one of which wouldn't be officially played for 5+ years. Can anyone hear them? Goodnight bit ends a little before 8:00

It makes my heart feel warm to see Benmont find a new home.

  17. It's a rotating cast so maybe not so much a home but sometimes guys stay for a minute

Even if it's just a nice run like Mayer or Hornsby had.

  19. Mayer has actually already been there longer than Hornsby...think he's a lifer

  20. I've decided that Phil is easily the best musician in the dead, and maybe the best rock n roll improviser ever

Phil's bass sound may be my favorite thing about the dead.
