Someone on instagram says that he met Matt (he did, he posted pictures) and that he said that the album is coming early 2019. Cool if true!

I expect Mark to take inspiration from the Trio record. It doesn't need to sound like that but the inspiration wouldn't hurt.

With super serious and mind blowing lyrics and dark moody experimentation. Cause that’s what blink-182 is known for known for don’t ya know

If its anything less ground breaking than The Wall im gonna be so disappointed

I'm gonna love it whether it's experimental, poppy, dark, light, whatever. As long as they don't change drastically I'll be happy. I was way stoked on Neighborhoods when it came out and have a lot of good memories with that record, even though I barely listen to it anymore. I'm not worried, just stoked for new blink.

It better be the next world wide revolution of music. Or else.

This is a mindset I can get behind

  12. Even if the songwriting is better, the production and mixing will still sound stale and lifeless like California and the latest Goldfinger releases.

Like, it just will. And that kinda sucks.

I think we should all be aware of the possibilty that they go full on fall out boy on the next record (i.e go for a modern pop sound)

I dont think they will, but it would not surprise me that much.

  15. Feldmann and his team sound like Feldmann and his team... and there's just no way around that.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I'd rather they try a modern pop sound than putting out anything like California

but also Mark and Matt don't really have the voices for that sound IMO

  17. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Blink went the way of Fall Out Boy, 30 Seconds To Mars, Linkin Park, etc. I would just be even more bummed if they do.

  18. Good point

I mean yes. But that doesn’t mean Mark and Matt can’t do what they want with the sound. Feldman is producing not their overlord

  21. That's debatable.

But still, Feldmann's production and mixing sounds the same across everything. Life, if you listened to "Put The Knife Away" by Goldfinger and pretend it's Mark and Matt singing it, it sounds like a California song.

    Prestigious Prestigious

We’re not talking about genre or songwriting or anything like that. The way the guitars sound (which is a tone I don’t like) are his production style

  23. I'm not saying I don't like California because there's a good chunk of songs that I really like. BUT the album mostly SOUNDS like poo, and I don't see that changing on the next album because Feldmann and his team sound more or less the same across everything they work on. That's all I'm really trying to say, even though I'm spiraling now, haha.

    Things have changed.

To nitpick, Feldmann isn't credited as a producer on the Goldfinger record. Zakk Cervini produced and mixed. Now, Feldmann's influence is obviously all there in the similarities of the songwriting. But Cervini is now no longer with Feldmann, so I assume they'll get someone else to mix most of the record.
