i’m at three years with my cats and only have paid for routine checkups. except when Barry got cat acne and started scratching it by rubbing on a sharp cabinet corner. i had to get him some cat neosporin for that.

 

My cat has had two UTIs (including going to the emergency vet with one) but my then-boyfriend’s parents helped out with that because they’ve dropped thousands on their cats (they’ve had like 7 and two of them had cancer/diabetes)
It wasn’t until this past surgery that I had to pay for myself which was like $450. Ouch.

Also to whoever said it, from what I understand pet insurance sucks. It doesn’t cover like anything and therefor not worth it. I could be wrong that’s just what I’ve heard

 

Also, I’ve done nothing but clean since waking up. I feel the most productive I’ve felt since last time I did this...9 months ago.

 

my female cat had utis a long time ago, we changed her food to the Purina UTI specialty one and she hasn't had one since.

 

Yes UTIs are very dangerous for cats (they can be deadly for male cats I’m not sure about female) so after the first one he’s been on prescription urinary SO food ever since. (Also expensive lol)

The second UTI only happened because my boyfriends mom was mixing his food with normal food to save money. That’s another reason she paid for that time hah

 

oh yeah, I know it's really bad for males.
the prescription stuff is crazy expensive. I was relieved when the purina stuff worked for ours.
