i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

i'm no expert, but that doesn't sound good - health and body wise. you need food for energy. if you're concerned about going over a certain number threshold for calories, then you just gotta research what foods to eat that are low in cals so you can snack a bit through the day so you avoid crashes (i.e. grapes are a great choice - gets your fruit filling, low cals, good carbs and natural sugar).

    A foolish wanderer

I'm still on the diet I've been on since late last year - namely, "less food". I don't count calories, because I find that concentrating too much on my food makes me eat more. The less I think of food the less I eat. Still, I can't shift the last seven or eight pounds. Is anybody in a similar position - almost there, but just can't quite make it?

Especially for when i'm really pushing weight training, I tend to eat my biggest meal right afterwards (within 45 minutes) consisting of a decent amount of protein and good carbs including rice and veggies. Sounds so bland but learning how to use spices and other natural flavors has helped me a lot. Probably a 1000 calorie meal. Saw my best results sticking to that.

    Pity the living

My workout schedule is kinda weird, I'm normally hitting the gym at around midnight haha so I'll eat a similar meal to the one you described a few hours before, then I'll take a post workout supplement I think its like 30 grams of protein and I feel like that's probably made the most difference for me.

I haven't been too active in this thread but stopping in again to say that after 51 weeks, I finally reached my initial weight loss goal of being under 200 pounds, which means a weight loss of about 65 pounds in the last year. Just before the 1 year mark, which makes me happier than I thought possible.

New goal is to lose about 25 more to reach 175, which is "healthy weight" for my height and no longer considered "overweight". Not even a doubt in my mind that I can do it now, as I never thought the first 20 was doable...yet alone 30, 40, 50...

    Cheers!

I'm in a dangerous spot where I'm already depressed and crazy stresses (big triggers for me) and just found out this weekend was a way bigger setback than I thought. On Wednesday or Thursday I weighed in at 236.5. This morning was 241.5. Trying not to feel like this whole thing is a house of cards waiting for a breeze

So I am in my 2nd week of weight watchers and doing really well. I can still eat what ever I want, just have to measure stuff which is kind of cool to realize that "No Julie, you can't eat the whole bag of cape cod potato chips in a day". I've also started to use the gym at work, doing exercises at home and drink water like its my job. I feel really good so far! I also decided to go off the zoloft but in a safe way per my doctor. I hope that in 6 weeks I will notice some major weight loss and I will be able to deal with depression like I used to without the Zoloft. Its time to move forward in my life and not let the loss i suffered control me anymore.

You can all judge me for my weight, I really don't care, but this is more for Chris than anyone else.

I weighed in at 241 when I started weight watchers a few weeks ago (At this time last year I was down to 185 because I was so sick and in pain). I then lost 6 lbs and then weigh in day was yesterday, i'm back up to 237. I spent the last year recovering from the loss of a child, 2 operations, pain meds, eating whatever I wanted because I didn't care and going on 100mg of zoloft.

Don't let your weight bring you down buddy. If you need someone to talk to, you know how to find me

from 212 to 205 in 7 days. trying to get to my college weight of 185. I'll be crazy happy once I get out of the 200s. The hardest part of it all is finding what to eat. Cutting out bread and pasta is hard when all else I can think of to eat is steak! lol my waist and bank account will get smaller that way.

also, in college I was 11% bf. Now my scale says 23%:cringe:. Hopefully the 25lbs drop will get me back to there too

I'm not a small girl. Never was and never will be, but If I can get back down to 185 or even 190, I'll be happy. I just want to fit into my size 14 jeans again like I did last year. Depression is seriously a bitch when it comes to weight. But I also have to factor in that I quit smoking in August and that it would suppress my hunger and manage my stress, so I'm still getting used to managing both without smoking.

I couldn't even tell you what my body fat is. I don't even want to know. I don't have time to figure all that out. The scale is scary enough.

I have this seemingly made up thing called body dysmorphia. Even at 6'3/4 185 I felt like I looked 260+ and would constantly need reassurance even though I didn't believe what people said. Now at 212/205 people kinda see what i've been talking about now.

Been eating apples w/ peanut butter every morning (typically don't eat breakfast), and trying to make sure I eat at least 1600 calories. Trying to find a routine is tough. I just want to lose 5 lbs and it's damn near impossible.

My daily diet consists of a packet of oatmeal and yogurt for breakfast, and chicken breast, salad, cottage cheese, and grapes/or/celery/or/berries for lunch and dinner, and maybe ice cream for a desert. I usually make about 4 chicken breast in a crock pot with recipes for shredded chicken salsa or with spices and cream of mushroom that help make it not so plain. Making a few days worth of lunches and dinner at a time help control portions and make it easy to log food and stay honest with my diet.

I totally get where you're at. I know it's easier said than done, but you just have to try to move past it and get back on track. Nothing you can do now can change what you ate the past week, but you can aim to make healthier decisions moving forward.

I think it's natural to have the mentality where you mess up on your diet and then just think that since you've already messed up on it then what's the harm in messing up a little bit more?

Anyway, I hope that didn't sound condescending or anything...I really do understand what you're going through. I've found that Weight Watchers works well for me (at least when I have the willpower to stick to it and track everything).

I really hate the way my body works. I lost 3 lbs over night somehow but if I even look at an Oreo I gain 10. I fluctuate so much and it's frustrating. The psych drugs I'm on make me extra hungry so I'm in my own personal hell everyday.

Right now my sweet tooth is relatively gone. In the words of Kate Moss "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." I'd be an equally bad role model.
Excited everyday to step on the scale and see it go down. Sucked when it didn't but then I said "hey, 7 pounds in a week is plenty."

I fluctuate a lot too and it used to not bother me but now the fluctuation window is getting a little higher than I'm comfortable with! I'm not too much heavier than my normal weight but I can see gaining more and more if I don't curb it now since I have bad habits. I'm just so bad at sticking with things. I've been more conscious of what I eat but realistically I know I can do better. I just like junk food too much and am being stubborn.

I saw this last week at the grocery store, and the Lemon Cake flavor really caught my eye. But then I saw that for a pint, it was like $6.50, which I think is crazy!
