I still don't know how Gretta Van Fleet signed a major label deal. I have a very strong feeling they'll just be a flash in the pan because the Zeppelin fans that listen will just miss Zeppelin more and the new fans will discover Zeppelin and realize how much better they are.

 

Greta is 3 brothers and one other guy, isn't that a classic case of mummy and daddies money buying them a record deal?

 

The math checks out. Also, I just lurked their wikipedia and I can't believe they have so many Grammy noms. Quick, let's find some rich siblings, start a band that's a direct rip of Pink Floyd, and we'll be on a major label in no time!

 

6 song EP + cover song + unreleased song + banter = one hour set

 

Y'all wondering how a band that apes arguably the greatest band of all time and can pull off a convincing copy at like 22 years old gets signed meanwhile you can't go a week without any trendy scene label signs a band that sounds like a bad copy of already terrible pop punk or metalcore bands

I think the thing I hate most about GVF is the fact that they 100% deny any Led Zeppelin influence, and try to convince everyone that they’re influenced by “world music”

Awesome I finally get to see ATR live.

 

I remember hearing about them years ago. Didn't they go viral on youtube or something? I bet they have a decent draw in the 40+ year old crowd who would still buy CD's.

 

I'm in a GVF fan group on Facebook and I think I'm one of the only people under 40 in the entire group. Also a lot of the posts are the typical "GVF is saving rock and roll!!!" and "best new band in decades" type hooplah.

 

They're not bad, but nothing new. People around here (where they are from) treat them like Gods.
