it will be terrifying, just practice your set a ton so even when you are struck frozen up there you can hit auto pilot and still perform the stuff

You should do it!! I know it’s scary and I’ve never done it but realistically open mics are the lowest tier of performance so the expectations aren’t high. The point I’m making is no one goes to them to be a jerk and treat it like America’s got talent. Everyone’s usually really supportive and encouraging and it’s a nice environment (typically) so even if you totally fuck up there are still people cheering you on for conquering the stage fright

 

I'm gonna do an open mic and save my farts all day and fart alot into the mic.

Just picture the audience naked. Not to quell your nerves or anything but just because it’s hot.

 

One time I went to an open mic and a guy brought an accordion onstage and did a parody of Hollaback Girl for his entire set
