I'm going to make a cake on Sunday for when the in-laws come on Sunday. since I don't have to cook food cause they are going to pay for takeout, figured I'd show off my baking skills.

 

Man now I want cake. I close at work tonight. I could just buy myself cake. Yeah I think I'll do that.

 

it was ok. I don't like big deals being made about me. I was home at lunch because it's wet/cold here and needed to let my dog out for a few minutes and my manager called me at 12:55 asking if/when I was coming back to the office so I didn't know what it was about. I get there and they had 3 cakes (2 birthdays 1 guy got citizenship) and it was just uncomfortable for me. you want to celebrate my approximate birthday just bring me a bag of mini chewy sweetarts and I'll be happy.

Whatever dude. You think that's bad? I have a forced immediate dinner after work every year with my boss, my one co-worker, his two tenants who are older women that live in the same building as our business, and maybe one of their random friends sometimes. Now, don't get me wrong I love my job and my boss is the best, but these dinners are 2+ hours minimum and gifts are always done at the very end. One of the women who lives in the building has her birthday 2 days before me, so this is a thing that I can't ever escape as long as I work here. They make me wear a friggin' cupcake on my head. I always only eat like 3 of the things available and everyone asks why I don't eat more. I house the cake and then get to gifts and then gtfo every time.
