this is cringeworthy on so many levels. you could say the exact same thing about a poet or a musician. there are plenty of podcasts out there that unpack and discuss subcultures and sexualities and help people wrap their head around topics they’re underexposed to, or maybe they are exposed to and passionate about but know no one else who shares that and it’s an outlet to them and a way for them to find community

I have listened for over 4 years to a podcast of a few normal people discussing horror movies because I don't have a lot of people that share that interest to discuss with, because I like their takes on movies and enjoy hearing what other people think of them, and I like the dynamics of the group and it's a comforting thing to listen to

And other podcasts I enjoy because they're funny or informative or entertaining in some way

 

okay so if that's the case, if your intent is only to create, then why do you publish it on the internet? Why do you post it in here for us to listen to? It's because you, at some level, think you have something to say or that we'll find enjoyment out of what you've created. Like I said, you record yourself and others with the intent to throw it up on the internet for others to listen to. Otherwise, you'd just file them on your harddrive and be done with it.

Yeah, to a certain extent sure. Anyone can pick up a $50 usb microphone, audacity, and create a soundcloud account. Spew some shit, and throw it up. It takes a certain amount of investment to learn chords, rhythm, beat creation, editing, mixing, etc. But yeah, there is an over saturation of shitty bands now too.

And yeah I'm sure there are some podcasts that have value and are of quality, but I still have no interest in them because again I don't really care to listen to them for a variety of reasons. Listen if you wanna listen I don't care i already said this a few times now. I can not like podcasts and think they're dumb and boring and you can like them and think they're entertaining, but it's not cringeworthy or wrong of me to not like them

this is no different than any of the other dumb things that get posted on this website
