Okay. My point is people said Macron wouldn't be an awful president who would implement crushing austerity that would strengthen the right, but he did. If your only response is "but Le Pen," the bad news is that FN is likely to do even better than they did last time. So if the only value of Macron is as a far right stopper, like you say, then he's failed miserably - just like Melenchon supporters predicted the entire time.

What I wanted the French to do in that election was not vote for two fucking awful candidates to go to the final runoff - but that wasn't even what my post was about. It was about things like this:
