The 1975 - A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships (November 30, 2018) Album • Page 438

  1. Use less beans. You can control your caffeine intake. Make a nice 8oz Aeropress, use < 10g of beans to start, and see how it effects you. Most people are going into Starbucks and ordering mostly sugar drinks or having shitty pre-made bad coffee at home. That's not coffee.

Almond milk lattes are my new shit. Other than that, black coffee is the only way.

This album sounds like 22, A Million and OK Computer put out an online together and cliched rock star troped a new Millennial album about Nirvana Oasis. I can tell Matty Healy listened to Blonde. Uh-oh, is that Jazz? Someone's a lounge. Horse rehab? Tinkling pianos underscored, stretched out vocals power ballad before beating non-intravenous heroin. Trap beat? 322 on Spotify. Biggest rock band of all time, but ironically not. Hyper self-aware. Poison me Daddy giving me life!

There's a coffee place across from my office that uses this crazy super slow drip thing (kyoto I think it's called) and it ends up making insanely caffeinated coffee (>400-500mg of caffeine per 12oz) and while it doesn't taste great, it does hit me like jet fuel.

If you typed this out a few weeks ago it would have been on the sticker placed on physical copies

  12. Remember how they released that long poem thing when they started teasing? That, except for Notes.

It always blows my mind when people say they don’t like coffee, yet haven’t tried a non-Starbucks/coffee pot coffee

I'm probably gonna associate this album with Christmas forever, since I might play it once or twice this December.

  17. Putting on the s/t today. Probably gonna do a full discog listen.

This album meant so much to me. Hard for me to think of a song that hit me more than "The City" when I first heard it.

The jazzy elements make me really want a Christmas album from them.

My brother's girlfriend does 'special French coffees' and they blow my skullbox off. I've never had Starbucks!

Sorry to interrupt this coffee discussion in the 1975 thread (???) but I just wanted to get my thoughts down and watch them get lost in amongst the onslaught of posts lol (this thread moves faster than chat threads I swear!). I am only up to 'Inside your mind' of my first playthrough, but it is absolutely phenomenal so far. I gotta say I haven't liked a single one of their intro tracks, but from 'Give Yourself a Try' onwards it has not dipped in quality even once. I'm so immersed in it yet the whole time I've been super aware of how rare it is for an album like this to come along, and how rare it is for me to feel so strongly about an album on a first listen.

Just thankful I am able to experience and enjoy the music this band makes I guess - one of my all-time favourites. Even though I don't post often in here, It's nice to lurk to see how passionate others on this site are about them too

Including the EP songs - it's still the one that resonates the most with me. I saw countless shows with them playing those songs. Started seeing them less and less when ILIWYS hit.
