Nah, that was the second biggest I think! The Temple is the smallest. Or rather was. Isn't it the o2 Institute now?

All of their records are vastly different imo. I couldn't stand the S/T record and still cannot get through the whole thing. I was on this site bashing this band after Sleep was released (which is a record that I appreciate much more now, but still isn't a record I frequent...I know hot take). I found myself infatuated with single after single with this current stretch and really enjoy the new record.

For my taste, they've made a record that I enjoy start to finish (which is only their third full-length record).

I feel like that's a massive overstatement, it only reached #19 in the UK singles charts

Got number two in the 'UK Indie' charts. I heard it everywhere I went and the video was played relentlessly, alongside everybody under the sun making the joke that they couldn't understand what Matty was singing.

Getting to number two in the indie charts is not the UK equivalent of the success that Carly Rae Jepsen had with Call Me Maybe lmao

Oh yeah, I'm not saying they weren't popular at that time. I'm just saying that equating the commercial success of "Chocolate" with "Call Me Maybe" is a hugely misleading exaggeration

*shrug* It was pretty big here and played everywhere is all. I'd absolutely liken it to Carly Rae considering both were played to death over the radio and on TV. Might not be the same stats-wise, but we're talking apples and oranges here. A mainstream pop act was obviously going to get more attention than The 1975 would've back then.

Yeah the figures aren't nearly the same. Was just referring to what I experienced here. Adored Chocolate but go so numb to it by the time the UK radios were through with it. An Aussie soap still bloody uses it every so often now, if they're not playing another one of their songs.

I'm just going into Notes blind if I can. Sick of ruining albums by overplaying the singles prior. For once I'd like an album to turn up at my door and not know at allllll what to expect.

Oh no I didn't take it that way! I hear you, I'd be saying the same thing if this were Gaslight or Bon Iver (bands/ artists i've been invested in since the start)

I just realized that his vocal delivery in the first 30 seconds of the intro remind me of James Blake.
