That father john misty album made me so sad I had to stop listening to it lol. I guess it deserves some recognition for that

 

This. I like this album a lot, but I'm going to need more than a day to decide if it passes albums that I've been listening to and loving all year.

 

Top 5 will probably look something like Foxing, Brockhampton, this, FJM, Let’s Eat Grandma, and Hop Along. Not sure which one won’t make the cut haha

 

Coheed was technically 6th but you realized leaving it out was a crime I get it

 

Drew said he’s writing something now we know we’ll never see it.

There’s certainly been a lot of great music this year, that’s for sure. Basically, what it boils down to for me is that this album immediately hit me, on an emotional level, harder than any other record I’ve heard in a long time; it’s just coming out at the exact right time for me. Also, the heavy jazz and R&B influences throughout the album are right up my alley, especially this time of year.

I plan on writing a pretty thorough post about my thoughts on the album, my interpretation of its themes, and whatnot, but I definitely want to give it several more listens before I even attempt that.

 

Look at all that #content! Modernity has failed us!

 

idk where this will land with me but it was one of my favorite first listens of the year. had a group text going with a couple of friends and we started the album at the same time and talked about it as it played. then reading along in here was fun as well.

 

expect a content dump in December haha
