Person L was great, I wasn’t publishing lists or anything back then but I believe The Positives was my AOTY in 2009. It’s super disjointed but does all of its sounds so well! Spun my vinyl of it for the first time in a while a couple weeks ago and still think it holds up.

Very much reminds me of There, There by Radiohead which is one of my favorite songs.

How on EARTH has it been almost 3 years since the EP??

 

Yeah I'll echo this. The new Real Friends album is really friggin good, and sounds a lot like prime Starting Line.

 

Bumping this thread with this contamination how dare you all.

 

Every year at about this time I start spinning SILYMI and get reminded that this is basically the best band ever.

Person L is so so great too, just started getting into that this year.

Vacationer hasn’t quite hit me yet, but I’m pretty confident it will eventually

 

I got to see Person L open for Anthony Green and had the chance to talk to Kenny. He was very kind and probably stoned. "Storms" is easily my favorite Person L song. I've been listening to Direction lately, it made for a nice soundtrack driving to the beach.

 

I'm so bummed I missed the SILYMI 10 year tour. I'd honestly do anything to see any of there albums played front to back.

 

Hell yeah, seeing them for the first time in December!

i love that they still do these holiday shows. gives me a little bit of hope that new material isn't out of the question yet.

 

We got that 2016 ep too haha. But I also wonder if this is a project Kenny would ever want to persue full time again

 

I love what Kenny's doing now and he seems to be having a blast with it. Not sure how much traction he would get with TSL these days.

I think it's awesome that these guys do one off shows every year to celebrate what they've done but I dont think it'll ever become a full time thing again (nor do I think it should)

 

I loved and still do love TSL but I definitely prefer Vacationer at this point in life over TSL by a large margin.
