i like fancy restarurants but i fucking hate ones where i don't understand 99% of the words and have no clue what i'm ordering. this sounds like one of those places

 

Chimichurri and achiote pepper are actually common flavors in Mexican cooking. But you are definitely right regardless lol

I don't eat out too much, and when I do it's not too fancy. I'm a fan of trying random $-$$ ethnic restaurants around town... not usually the buzzy restaurants. I'm sure there are tons of good places I just haven't been to.

Japanese:
Ru Sans (great AYCE sushi lunches for when I want to hate myself after eating)
Musashi (my favorite ramen in town)
Mr Tokyo (made to order, AYCE sushi for $13-$20. Locations in Pineville and Matthews)

Chinese:
Lee Cafe (kinda a drive down in Fort Mill, but recommended if you like szechuan cuisine and more 'authentic' Chinese food)

Supa Fancy:
Capital Grille
The Palm
Dogwood

Cheaper, casual food:
Yafo Kitchen

Cookout is god.
Sabor is very good. I go about every other week. Just went on Monday actually.
Hawthornes is pretty good.
I haven't had the Mad Greek but I've heard mixed things and everyone says Little Village is better so I just keep going there.
