apparently they played 70x7 in the encore last night???

 

Yeah, I'm only doing one show. I have tickets to Sunday but I don't want to burn a vacation day...seeing Phish 10 times this summer ate up all my vacation days, whoops.

I'll be updating at @BrandNewArchive a bit tomorrow night I think...but who knows. Don't really like having my phone out at shows.

 

They referenced the Beatles when talking about the reason why Jesse can be heard singing off-handedly at the end of Play Crack the Sky on Deja Entendu as he walks out of the studio. Think it was more a long the lines of a how much they like Sgt. Peppers and Abbey Road and how those records have loops built into the vinyl's so that the music doesn't stop or something to that effect. Never heard the "modeling our careers" part.

They also flat-out acknowledged that they stole one of the riffs on Deja Entendu from the Eagles. Hence why they titled the record "Deja Entendu"

 

Just got my 2000-2018 shirts in the mail. No posters or any other sort of promotional material for the new album. Not that I expected anything with a shirt order.

In other news, these shirts are super soft! Definitely softer than my Daisy shirt with the preorder for the album ever was. Kinda wish I'd sprung for one of the Electricity is Dangerous shirts a while back...

 

I think it's because they're using Merch Direct's own shirts, and yes, they are super soft. The Electricity is Dangerous shirts were a different brand and not nearly as soft.

 

I have my tickets for Saturday and might go Sunday too. If you guys want to meet up shoot me a PM!

 

Ah, well. Can't win em all... I believe it did say MD on the tag/back of the shirt, can't remember if it had a tag now that I'm thinking about it. (It's tagless, even more bonus points!)

 

Got both my 2000-2018 shirts and my first set of tickets in the mail.
Still waiting on one set....which makes me kinda nervous. anyone else have the same thing happen? I just assumed they would all come together.

 

That's odd because both of my EID shirts (woman in tub and the Christmas one) are MDNY (and super soft). Did you get yours on tour? Or maybe they switched them at some point online?

Word on the street is that they soundchecked Shower Scene and Logan the other day. Hoping they include one or both of those during the summer.

 

I'd rather they didn't to be honest. At the moment the setlist is pretty good, and I feel like those songs are going to come at the expense of something like Limousine. Which is a massive no-no for me.

 

I always heard "Space Cadet, pull out"

If I have the choice between hearing Soco, 70x7 or Mixtape for the umpteenth time or Shower Scene or Logan, I'll take the latter two every day. I doubt they'd replace any other album's songs in favor of more YFW.

I should also point out that the guy who posted about it said he heard them soundcheck a potential new song and Bed. No proof of the new song was posted, though.

As for Bangkok, I've always heard "pull up." More people seem to believe it's "pull out" from what I've seen.

 

I do love Logan yeah, Shower Scene not so much. That's the thing about YFW, it kind of all blends into one for me until it's actually playing. If that makes sense. If you were to quote me lyrics, unless it was Jude, Mixtape, 70x7 or Soco, I probably wouldn't know what it was. And as a huge fan of Brand New, that kind of bothers me. I just don't listen to YFW much. I appreciate it's a nostalgic, catchy album, don't get me wrong. But for me, Devil just trumps everything. Followed closely by Daisy. I love the much more intense, brooding stuff I guess.

Sorry, tangent. Whenever someone mentions a new song I always assume they're soundchecking a cover, but I sincerely hope it's a new song yeah. You've started the hype-train in my heart again, damn it!
