Watching the Saints’ defensive collapses over the last decade makes no lead feel safe tbh

Talking to my friend about those stats right now. He's standing by the 1st round pick being a good value trade and I'm so annoyed.

Oakland is gonna draft a better receiver than Amari Cooper with the Dallas pick.

The idea of trading for him is/was great, he clearly helps the entire offense immediately.

But yes, 1.5 years of good/great #1 WR play for a first round pick is too expensive, but we desperately needed help in that area for multiple reasons and other teams (Colts, Eagles, etc...) were offering a second round pick and we were kind of forced into a corner.

So far it's worth it and if we continue to play how we have been, especially with Alex Smith going down, we should win the division anywhere from 8-8 to 10-6 and make that first round pick worth less and less if we can go further than the Wild Card round.

I don't expect us to win a playoff game though, that would be pretty shocking to me.

I actually don't agree with this, I don't think they will.

Getting a true #1 WR in the draft is way, way more spotty than people are making it out to be, especially in the first round. There are dozens of receivers drafted every year and they don't work out far more often than they do.

My main thing is I just think the Cowboys could've traded like a 2nd + 2 5ths or something like that, and still gotten Cooper and kept their 1st round pick.

Yeah, they might have but if it's true about other teams offering their second, they just decided to overplay their hand to get the deal done quickly instead of offering that and hoping no other teams did the same or better.

    The rivalry is back on

I’m skeptical that a second rounder was the offer to beat since that report included the Colts. Everything that Ballard has done to date suggests that he would prefer having a second round pick to having a guy at the end of his rookie deal, for better or for worse.

Yeah, all the reports for everything other than confirmed trades that went through should be taken with a grain of salt, regardless of the teams involved. Could be smokescreens, but I do believe the Eagles offer since they traded for Tate a couple hours later. Which that trade is looking pretty bad, a 3rd rounder for 8 games with a guy who they seemingly aren't even trying to get him involved in the passing game.

Well, not dozens in the first round. And most of the ones taken in the first round that don't work out failed for an obvious reason. See: Laquon Treadwell. The solution, as silly as this sounds, is just don't draft a bad receiver haha.

You're right, that does sound silly. Of course no teams think they're drafting bad players.

Do you believe in the Raiders ability to not draft a bad WR in the first round though?

I don’t think Jenkins actually gave a shit that they scored. Probably has a lot to do with his relationship with Sean. I’d flip him off, dude is trash just like Williams

Let it not be lost in the shuffle that Amari Cooper is nowhere NEAR a true #1 WR.

oh no they're going to draft literally the worst one there i'm sure of it. but they SHOULD be able to get a guy like J-Jaw or N'Keal.

He'd be 3rd in receiving yards on the Jags.

Technically 4th on the Texans, and that's with Keke Coutee 7 yards behind him.

    Hopkins
    Fuller
    Thomas
    Cooper
    Coutee

this is why Hue went to the Browns in the first place. To be the inside man and sabotage them. Now he has returned to the fold with intimate knowledge of the organization. Bengals still lose by 30.

Rumor has it that this was the plan before Hue went to Cleveland. If this happens, I have some bleach in my closet that I'm ready to down.

    Thi
My opinion is they would have released several more Dear You quality albums if they stayed together and went further into a more complex thinking man’s punk rock. Which is essentially what Blake did on his own after Jawbreaker.

24 hour revenge therapy is also an absolute classic though, and the fact they have both a lo fi and remastered version allows it to appeal to both punk-aesthetic and wider audiences. Are we pretending that album isn’t good and didn’t make Jawbreaker one of the most loved punk bands to begin with?

If a band “ends at their peak” there’s no way to even know if it was their peak haha

This makes me sad seeing Wentz on this list. It's really not that important as shit happens. But it does make me sad.
