Yeah I don’t know jack shit about fixing cars tbh haha

 

Nah we just own Audi dealerships. My company owns 34 dealerships across the country, is one of the largest fleet Management companies in the world, and does some other stuff.

 

My dad drives an A3.

 

The devil on my shoulder tells me to pretend I already finished my degree and apply to professional jobs hoping they don’t ask for copies of transcripts / the physical paper copy of proof.

I won’t do it becuase thats some pretty major fraud, but I always think about it. I feel like some jobs are mostly learned via training and could be done well without college?

I mean, do companies say “okay just forward us a copy of your degree / transcripts” when they hire you or do they take your word for it that you graduated? Hahaha

 

I haven’t done organic social in forever but I do paid social and I love it except for how skeeeezy Facebook is

 

If you go this route (or anything similar — I started in Search Engine Marketing), my biggest rec would be to get the degree so that you can check that box (I did econ, but anything tied to business/advertising is good), and find a way to get in the door at an agency.

At an agency, they’ll throw everything at you so you’ll learn what you like and don’t like as trial by fire, the work environment is super chill so it’s a lot better than your typical first corporate job, and you can put in about a year and have the skills you need to jump into whatever else you feel like doing long term.

@whitenblue88 - This is legit exactly what I did. Got a degree in communications, started at an agency and just got my hands in as much stuff as possible, got promoted to get some management experience and then bounced.

 

When I hire people they have to forward me a copy of their diploma before they can start. I think that’s basic HR practice if the job requires a degree level.

nice, I was looking to get into the HVAC world but that sounds harsh

 

It was an entry-level position when I was like 14 & in high school. All I did was put books away and help organize the library. I don't exactly miss it. Nice people though. The staff kept close with my family and ended up hiring a few of my younger siblings over the years. So that was cool.
