It's all good. I've seen All The World Is Mad on the bottom for a lot of people (I love the groove and the chorus and that bridge, really great song all around for me actually) so I'm used to it, but I've always thought Digital Sea and Broken Lungs were common favorites from those respective EPs that I didn't expect to see them so low.

the ships have all sailed to the sea

I'm going to take a crack at that ranking later. Hurricane might honestly be my number one opener. Picking between Red Sky and Beggars is going to be tough.

The funny thing is I love every opener actually, just when ranking them there has to be a bottom one. I'd argue kill me quickly is better than digital sea and broken lungs, but not all the world is mad. My biggest surprise is seeing Hurricane so high over Firebreather for a lot of people. Same for Yellow belly actually, it's such a good jam.

i’ve been meaning to tell you

I haven't really spent enough time with anything pre-Vhiessu to add it to the ranking. This is very hard and subject to change as basically any Thrice song I am currently listening to is my favorite.

    All the World is Mad
    Hurricane
    Yellow Belly
    Image of the Invisible
    Broken Lungs
    Firebreather
    Moving Mountains
    Digital Sea

    Red Sky
    Disarmed
    Beggars
    Salt and Shadow
    Silver Wings
    Child of Dust
    Kings Upon the Main
    The Flame Deluge

    Fight the long defeat.

Agreed on the "Of Dust and Nations" comparison. It's nearly identical in my hearing.

"Whistleblower" makes me wish they would re-record Vheissu in accordance with their production shift after Alchemy. While it features some of their strongest songwriting, Vheissu suffers for its relatively glossy sound, and I think their later raw sound would suit it so well.

Hearing the raspyness and rawness of Dustin's vocals and screams now, I'd pay good money to hear them re record Illusion, Artist and Vheissu. Any of those songs sound way better off the live cds anyway

not gonna rank but I think Hurricane is their best opener (recency bias be damned) and Red Sky has to be best closer.

When it was new, "Kill Me Quickly" was amazing as an opener. Obviously, they've written better songs since, but as soon as everybody came in on "Can We..." we went nuts at those early Illusion shows with Face to Face.

    Horrendous Space Kablooie

Image is easily my favorite Thrice opener. I'd put Red Sky as their best closer, but I also really love The Beltsville Crucible. Beggars is pretty haunting, too.

In response to Kill Me Quickly: When they played it on their farewell tour people went nuts for it from the opening guitar notes. Such an explosive opening and ending and the musical part in the middle is an awesome build up. Such a great track.

thinking outside the box: after the show on wednesday, a very fitting closer could be... 'the long defeat'. the lyrics to the song and the crown singing the lyrics in the end as the song fades out. just thinkin about it gives me chills. once you see them play the song live and experience the feeling of the last minute of the song for yourself, you'll understand.

Just realized Broken Lungs may be my favorite opener. That little jazzy bridge/breakdown after the first chorus is maybe my favorite Thrice moment ever. Wouldn't mind a whole album of songs in that direction.

Woke up this morning to a group text from one of my buddies and all it said was, "THRICE."

Basically sums up how I feel today. Can't wait to see them tonight for the very first time.

You're in for a treat. I've seen them no less than 15 times and I've never been disappointed. First time was in 2001 or 2002 when they opened for Face to Face in DC. Enjoy tonight!

I wish that tour was coming near me... The closest they are coming is Toronto, but it's still an 8 hours drive...

I want to go to the show tonight in ATL so bad, but the drive is too long and traffic too bad coming from Nashville after work. Hurricane, Long Defeat, For Miles would be so amazing....:(

Anyone who has caught them on their tour so far, can you verify if they have a decent amount of LPs available? My order from Amazon came in yesterday and it's damaged and they don't have any more in stock to exchange it for. I'll be seeing them on Sunday and want to know if I'll have a chance of picking up an undamaged copy.

They had multiple boxes of the tour variant in L.A.

Not hard to get at all, so you should be good.

Yeah I'm in Quebec City so I was hoping for a Montreal date too (a Quebec City date would be just wishful thinking).

Here's a link to a Facebook Live thing they did today. Dustin still sounds strained to me. I hope he's okay.
