Since it's a slow day around here.

 

Lol, yeah. That's the music fraternity and they are cult-y as FUCK (they wear robes during their pledging culmination event for fuck's sake) so I wanted to pick something appropriate while also being pretentious and having questionable integrity. Reason being, most of those dudes are pretty much total dicks and Batushka, while I enjoy their music, are pretty suspect in terms of how much of a money-making scheme they are and all that.

Also, this new Unleashed actually rips pretty hard.

 

This is awesome. Last album was awesome as well. Looking forward to more.

Friday thoughts:

-The new Cult Leader is great.
-The new Evoken is great as well.
-I've been listening to a lot of Integrity this week for some reason. I'm also starting to understand that Integrity can do absolutely no wrong.
-I decided to go see GWAR/Municipal Waste/Miss May I/Toxic Holocaust/Haunt tomorrow on a whim because a buddy of mine has an extra ticket. It should be a killer show despite High on Fire dropping. Miss May I also sticks out like a sore thumb on the lineup tho.

 

I think it's great that they have been able to get on tours with more metal bands. Hell, All Out War toured for the longest time with death and black metal bands. Hatebreed is another band that really can be thrown on just about any bill and do fine.

I checked this out because of the album cover and this A Flock Named Murder album is pretty cool. Canadian trio (formerly known as Sovereign) they blend black, death, doom, and post metal, and cite Agalloch, Cult Of Luna, Drudkh, Immolation, Neurosis, and The Ruins Of Beverast as influences.

 

Also checking out Haunt for the first time in prep for the show tomorrow. They're pretty damn good if you're into old-school style NWOBHM kinda shit.

 

Haha. The show is in Dallas but if you hop on a flight and make it here in time, I'll give you the ticket. I wanted to go but I'm on the middle of moving and have a lot to do... Besides I'm going tomorrow night which will be insane (Power Trip, Ceremony, Iron Age, Cold War, War Hungry, Back to Back, Holy Order)
