Agony & Irony cut way back on the synth and I thought that album was way better than Crimson *shrug*

But Trio fans in general seem to be down on A&I, which bums me out.

Random thought but does anybody remember the YouTube video of Mark making fun of Everything's magic and toms wavy arm dance thing to his face on stage? Good times.

Lyrically it's easily the weakest for Matt (but Crimson is a tough one to follow lyrically) but I love the vibe of it. I listen to it quite a bit. Love Love, Kiss Kiss is probably my least favorite Trio song though.

I really like the Stockholm Syndrome interlude. Fight me.

Also why tf are blink performing at Bethesda's E3 conference? So random lmao

Agony & Irony is my favorite and Crimson is bottom three for me and boy do people act like I just insulted their puppy when I say that.

I had a pair of turtles named agony and irony. You just insulted them. /internet logic

They're gone now though, but I still have my red eared slider names Blink. No I am not joking about that.

I actually thought Matt had a good album with A&I. Help Me was obviously written with a "label wants a pop song for the radio" idea to it, but the only song on there that let me down lyrically from him was Live Young Die Fast, which is my least favorite Trio song ever lol. That song is sooooo bad to me. But I love the rest of the album so much that I usually rank it somewhere in the 2-4 range. Dan just kicks so much ass on that album lyrically, and in the b-sides.

I love singing along to Love Love Kiss Kiss. I just love the dripping sarcasm and cynicism in it hah. And Matt's bridge is awesome. I hate that they got away from splitting up the vocals in songs after doing it so effectively on Good Mourning/Crimson/A&I.

Matt hasn't had a complete strong album since A&I, sadly. Though to be fair I didn't give the Sekrets albums many spins at all. But his Trio work has been very hit or miss. I love MSIT but there's still a couple of Matt clunkers on there for me.

    Marinating. That is all.

How do we know Skiba can't write catchy riffs? Alk3 isn't a radio band; they only had one album on a major label...I'm not sure catchy was a huge priority for them. For a long time they were more of a punk band playing to crowds at 1,000 capacity venues than a pop-punk band playing corporate sponsored tours at 8,000 capacity venues with crowds containing many people who got all their music from the radio. Maybe Skiba will write catchier riffs since he's in a radio band now.

Here's an unpopular (?) opinion. Even though I don't like what Tom puts out lately or even the past several years, he still made the majority of my favorite blink songs.

Haha. This had me laughing. It's probably Earth shattering for those that give Tom all the guitar writing credit. I wonder if user above now has to re-evaluate his whole outlook on Blink knowing the signature riff they love is from a member still in the band.

I somewhat agree with you, most of my favourite Blink-182 songs are led by Tom even though I have always preferred Mark as a vocalist.

Not sure if this has been posted already, but Blink were awarded the Icon Award at the Kerrang! Awards last night. Incredibly awkward interview starts at 1:10:00.
