Nope! One of my favorites, maybe my top favorite, from the band.

 

It's easily tied for #1 with Good Mourning for me. I remember reading something with Dan and he said he always thought Crimson should have done better than it did. When Agony came out, I hated it, but as years went by I grew to love it.

 

Here's an unpopular one...probably:

Neighborhoods > When Your Heart Stops Beating

 

I never said that Tom writes difficult parts. I'm saying he writes types of parts that Matt does not write. And as a result, he's not used to playing them. Thus, he had to relearn how to play arpeggios at that speed as well as riffs like "Feeling This."

Alkaline Trio is 95% dynamic power chord progressions. There are little to no note-driven riffs, dominant leads or arpeggios like Tom writes. Degree of difficulty has nothing to do with what I'm saying.

Tom plays a style Matt was not accustomed to. Tom is creative in a simple way. And because he does things that Matt does not do, Matt had to relearn the guitar in a way that is different from his own straightforward style.

Private Eye is one of my favorite Alkaline songs. It's also 5 chords with octaves.

I like Neighborhoods more than +44 too actually

 

So there's two people that are gonna hate California. Hahaha.

 

I know. Neighborhoods had way lower points than WYHSB did, but +44 just kind of bored me. And I love Mark.

 

If you're referring to me then nah, I really like both songs so far. (love BTD and like RH a lot)

The only work from any Blink members (including Matt) that I don't like much are the last few AVA releases

That record has the best lyrics of any blink related release and "Chapter 13" may be Mark's greatest accomplishment as a songwriter.

This has to be the only site on earth where people can go on and on about Tom's guitar playing and not get absolutely crucified lol. I'm about to go on a Trio binge until July 1st. I should buy two copies, I want Matt to get fuckin PAID the man deserves it. People acting like this guy isn't even qualified to tune Tom's guitar, shit. He'll be able to do blink just damn fine. God this thread makes me sad.

Sidenote after blasting Rabbit Hole in the car, I love it so much. Cannot get the chorus out of my head.

Lol this Tom impression cracks me up but it sounds more like Shawn from The Matches trying to sing with a broken jaw or something haha.

Oh me too. Especially in BTD there were lines that sounded exactly like Tom's worst live attempts haha.

 

Crimson is fucking great. But I'm incredibly biased since Alkaline Trio is my favorite band.

Time to bust out some Crimson now, thanks Jason!
