    I do not exist.

ROTJ was my favourite as a child. I loved those Ewok!

    -- God tier
    Empire
    TLJ
    -- Classics
    TFA
    ANH
    -- Flawed but still great
    ROTJ
    Solo
    R1
    -- why bother?
    TPM
    AOTC
    ROTS

Revenge of the Sith is the worst of the prequels. Phantom Menace at least has the lightsaber duel of the fates. AOTC is terrible but has moments of so bad it's good (mostly still just bad though).

I think I could watch Empire or TLJ every day for the rest of my life and not get sick of either. I find something new to like each time. Every moment inside the Death Star in ANH is incredible. TFA is non-stop fun. I really enjoy all of ROTJ, Solo, and R1, but all of them feel like the script could have used one more review before filming.

There's also Clone Wars, Rebels (the Obi-wan episode might be my favorite thing in all Star Wars), and many of the comics and novels. I really don't understand the "Disney is ruining Star Wars" crowd.

  4. This is what I found when I did a rewatch a year or two ago. I was surprised that Sith was the most insufferable. Clones wasn't good but wasn't the total boring abomination I remembered.

From September 2011 (when the complete saga was released on blu ray) to 2015 I watched an original trilogy film weekly and I just drained myself. I haven’t watched episodes IV - VI in full ever since VII was released.

If I am in a SW mood I just watch VII, R1, or VIII.

ROTS pretty much got the Palpatine opera scene and that's it for me.

That opera scene you mentioned and the opening space battle partially are the only two things I think are good about ROTS.

Speaking of those 3 awful films... I still wanna see an Anakin force ghost in IX.

I know Hayden was awful in the prequels, but who outside of Ewan actually did anything good w/ those George Lucas scripts & direction? There's an opportunity for a good Anakin moment thematically, in relation to Kylo.

I like Hayden and would love for him to have a chance to redeem the character a bit

I like Liam Neeson's performance as Qui-Gon Jinn still to this day, even if the script made him utter the midichlorians BS and act like a jerk with letting Anakin's mom stay behind as a slave.

Really? That’s strange. Jedi Master Luke :peace: and the Emporer’s throne room are the main reasons. I wanted to be like Luke when I was a kid because of that movie. My favorite Leia - Biker Scout Leia (Boushh a close second for obvious reasons). Also My Women of the Galaxy book will be here Friday, can’t wait for it!

ROTJ would be perfect to me without the Ewok battle

    “The greatest teacher, failure is”

While I agree that the puppet version is infinitely better, I think the CGI Yoda was necessary for the prequels. IMO it wouldve looked so silly to have a puppet hopping around like him in movies that are so CGI heavy. I dont mind that he used a lightsaber and was flipping around and all that. It obviously couldve been handled 10x better, but I really love that Yoda was just as flawed and blinded by the idealogy of the Jedi. Yoda becomes the first Jedi to realize that their religion isnt this ray of light they think it is. Its more in the ROTS novelization that really leaned into this more. Hes talking to Qui-Gon through through the Force at the end.

"Too old I was. Too rigid. Too arrogant to see that the old way is not the only way. These Jedi, I trained to become the Jedi who trained me, long centuries ago- but those ancient Jedi, of a different time they were. Changed, has the galaxy. Changed, the Order did not- because let it change, I did not."

Obviously not an excuse for the movie but in Canon I just love his arc through it all and am glad he wasnt the same Yoda from the OG trilogy.

Edit: Also that quote perfectly applies to Luke from TLJ too. Him and Yoda are basically in the same place. Why it didn’t work for him and Yoda’s “failure” lesson kind of comes from his failure with the Jedi Order.

The last time I watched AOTC I still enjoyed the corusant chase, the Jango/Kenobi fight, and the arena fight.

Hell yeah, I was in 7th grade with Episode 2 came out. You're damn right I was all about that massive droid battle on Geonosis back then.

Yeah I was at Cub Scout camp (5th grade I think?) when AOTC came out, and my whole troop saw it. That campsite was LIIIIIT after. We all had fake lightsabers out and were running around, great times, hours of fun.

That same camp one of our scouts got hit on the cheek by a spear another troop’s kid made to “protect their turf.” That was unrelated to the Star Wars stuff though lol
