On a Blink kick right now after not really following them after I overplayed California to death. Anything regarding a new LP anytime soon?

 

They're currently in the studio, not sure how far they are in the process.

 

Probably bits and pieces of recording between Vegas and what Matt needs to do for his Trio shows in the beginning of January. With Travis laid up earlier and Trio active, don't get the impression they've ever had a steady roll going in the studio yet. Probably after Matt's shows they bear down and finish in February or March if I had to guess.

 

At a menzingers show with my “Who the Fuck is Matt Skiba?” shirt on and a kid comes up wearing a blink shirt an points to me: “alkaline trio!” He was 19. I’m almost his dad’s age. I felt almost like a proud dad.

Edit: this shirt is CRAZY popular at this show. Hahaha.

 

Mark has been pretty active writing it seems lately. They’ve been writing this since late 2017 though from what I remember

 

I think they "officially" went into the studio in april, but there have been some things stalling the process as you guys mention. I would guess they're still just writing and not tracking anything yet. A summer 2019 release would make sense i think. Spring if you're optimistic.

 

I seem to recall Skiba recording vocals earlier in the year but they could have scrapped that by now

 

Their next release is gonna be really interesting i think. Are they gonna continue on the Cali route and do the pop-punk radio sound? Or are they gonna go through with what they said in interviews, and experiment more? Will Matt have more impact now that he's been a member for quite long?

Based on nothing at all, I personally predict it will be a bit darker, but still very poppy. It is Feldmann producing after all and the boys want those chartings.

 

All I know is no matter what it is I’ll probably love it

 

Haha Im not sure im as positive as you, but i am sure there will be atleast a few songs i dig. Its inevitable when these guys put out music.

 

I’m an admitted fanboy. Even albums I don’t return to that much (neighborhoods, Buddha, etc) I adore. So yeah you’re probably right lol
