Oh nooooo. Yeah, she ALMOST made my top five last year. Amazing voice and very passionate performances. That song is one of many highlights on the album. One of the songs is a Stapleton cover from his Steel Drivers days, but she completely makes it her own. I actually like her version more than his.

 

Laura Mvula spoke very candidly in this interview about her struggles with anxiety. If you don't love her yet, you should definitely check her out.

As soon as I dig out of my 2016 hole she is literally my top 2015 priority. Those lyrics Eva posted in the lyric thread are too damn good.

 

Haha, I should start bothering you about this soon, I've been rec-ing her stuff to you since last summer!!

Anyway, diving into her first album today after mostly listening to her 2015 record up to this point. This song is hitting me especially hard right now.

 

So all of her songs are excessively painful. Noted.

Don't know if she's been mentioned yet, but I'm a big fan of Sara Bareilles.
Kaleidoscope Heart is probably my favorite record of hers but really they're all pretty great.

Also St Vincent is amazing. She has such a unique sound to me and every record of hers blows me away for a different reason.
