Wow I really don't know what to say. Been a Sox fan for almost 35 years (well probably 30 in reality) and I never would have dreamed of seeing 1 WS championship after what happened in 2003 let alone 4. This team has been nails since really spring training. They bought into the Cora Kool Aid and never let a bad/big loss stop them from opening day to Game 3. This team was the best team in baseball all year and they certainly earned this title going through the Yankees, Astros and Dodgers. I never would have thought there would be a better Red Sox team than 2004 but I feel like this team is truly the greatest Red Sox team in history. From Pearce to Eovaldi to Price to Kelly to everyone, they all contributed to this title. I have so many thoughts in my head but really don't have the words for them. I really just want to sit back and enjoy this championship because winning these things are really really hard.

They are 100% the best Red Sox team of all time.

But 2004 and 2013 are still more special.

Oh, and lol 2007 happened remember?

As far as what championship between 2004, 2007, 2013 and 2018 is my favorite. I honestly can't really rank them, I wouldn't know how. Each one has meant something different to me and each one is special. 2004 is an obvious answer for obvious reasons. I think people sleep on that 2007 team because it was only 3 years after 2004 and has been forgotten but that team was pretty great too. 2013 with all the stuff some the bombings and how the team really came together. I don't know. It's like picking your favorite kid, you can't.

I can't want to go back and rewatch my World Series DVDs and of course can't wait for the 2018 one and hopefully MLB releases the games on DVD like they have in the past.

Yeah I don't know, my heart was racing like crazy. There was only 1 laugher in that 16-1 game, or whatever the score ended up being, against the Yankees. The Yankee series had their moments, that 9th inning of Game 4. Astros series was scary, that 18 inning game against the Dodgers killed me, the 9th of Game 4, and all of last night.

The incredible thing about this team was there wasn't one guy that had a Big Papi series where they just took over and carried the team. JBJ won the ALCS MVP award and batted .200 in that series, he had 3 hits and they were all huge. Mookie, JD and Bogaerts were pretty quiet in the WS. The pitching, especially the bullpen carried this team. It truly was a team effort and didn't hurt that Cora seemingly made 99.98% of the right calls and the players delivered.

I think the 2007 Sox team really made the post season look easy outside of the 3 games they lost to Cleveland. They steamrolled the Angels and Rockies that year. That's why I think they get overlooked.

I'm just glad I didn't fall asleep for this game. I remember waking up at 1:30am after we won the 2004 World series and pissed as hell because I missed it.

I hope Luhnow goes after Eovaldi if the price is right, he is prime Brent Strom material

Resign Morton and Marwin, let Keuchel and the rest of the free agents leave

Try to trade for Realmuto and/or Goldschmidt

I think the most amazing stat might be that the Sox won the World Series and Chris Sale only pitched 11.1 innings out of 135 total innings the team played. Didn't think the team had a shot if Sale didn't pitch like he was expected to. Again the big key to the championship was Price, Porcello, Eovaldi and even Sale giving them innings out of the pen. Total selflessness.

Kelly too. Him becoming a Lights out dominant reliever was so important for them.

  12. I think the biggest thing that makes this one different is no Papi. Other people had to step up and not only play well but lead. Feels like the whole rotation + joe kelly + brock holt became Leaders Of Men in october

Yup and I'm glad Kelly stepped up and played a huge role in October because the guy was just as good the first few months of the 2018 season. He seems like an absolute crazy man but a good guy. We also can't forget Barnes and Braiser in there too. Those guys were lights out too.

The team was filled with what seemed like a really good and likable group of guys.
