@tdlyon first half was very strange definitely. right from the start i was waiting for when the non-songs joke would start and by the end I was "oh that was crazy and unique and all over the place." But I loved it. Although I am a sucker for anything meta (Community, Rick and Morty, The Matches' Salty Eyes) so that might have played a part in me enjoying it on first viewing.

Just finished what. He definitely knows how to close a show. Brilliant stuff. Bo just became one of my favorites overnight haha. Are there any other good high concept comedy shows you guys would recommend? Sort of like Birbig's My Girlfriend's Boyfriend (loved the loop at the end) and the Bo stuff.

Awesome. I knew it was back soon, but I wasn't expecting it for another couple of weeks.

Of all the people I'd guess would be Clinton supports, Matt Besser isn't one of them. Smdh

The social media speech, the last song on stage, and song backstage after the show legitimately made me concerned for Bo Burnham. The special overall was unbelievable though.

@LuigiPeppercorn My gf said "Is he okay?" after the line about his declining mental health and then a few seconds later he says something about "I'm not a doctor" which I think she misheard.

Well Bo has one more special called Words Words Words that's not on Netflix but still fantastic. It's his first special so it's not quite as good as what. and Make Happy but definitely worth watching. Might actually have the most pure laughs out of the three, but a bit less meaning/depth

I'm watching the new Patton special and it's sad listening to him talk about his wife and them dealing with their daughter. Man that's rough.

@zigbigwig @tdlyon Bo also has another release prior to Words Words Words (not really a special per-se), but it's a CD/DVD of his songs and a CC Presents specials and some other videos/live performances. If you're a stan like me, it's definitely worth picking up as well.

@imthesheriff I'm only 3 episodes in, but totally agree about Hidden America. I wasn't expecting to like it, but I'm REALLY enjoying it so far.

@suicidesaints yeah he nails the type of shows he's making fun of plus there's a ton of funny stuff in each episode. I'm hoping for more.

I was hooked from the opening of the first episode where the woman is telling him about his ancestors and the witch trials. His responses to everything was just perfect. Then Koechner as the "mayor of Chicago" and all of his campaign ads.

Yeah the ancestors part was great. "He just threw babies for no reason".

  19. Damn, y'all weren't kidding about that new Bo special. The ending wrecked me.

I watched "what." again last night after being on Bo high for the last few days. Still amazing, but I think he may have actually topped it with Make Happy. Although I still think "From God's Perspective" is the best song he's written yet, but "Can't Handle This" and "Are You Happy?" come REALLY close.

Yeah I own everything he's ever done, including DVD of Zach Stone haha

I definitely think From God's Perspective is up there with his very best, along with #deep and Left Brain Right Brain. That show is just absolutely packed with amazing songs. Art Is Dead and Rant from WWW are fantastic too, the title track Words Words Words is mind-blowingly clever and Oh Bo is just incredibly catchy lol

Yeah, he's just gotten better and better but even his early stuff is still pretty amazing, especially considering his age.

  25. i'm not a huge fan of musical comedy, so a lot of his early stuff falls flat for me, but What and Make Happy are different. I still don't think all of his jokes land, but I definitely appreciate how quick he is and his knack for multi-media. It really is more of a "performance" than just a comedy special.
