If you’re ignore the obvious context that I meant something different than a Bryan-type player, that’s just facetious. You know what I mean.

 

Lamar Jackson should have been the pick instead of Taven Bryan. I don’t think there was a LT or WR that went for like 10 picks that would have made sense for JAX

Eh I’m glad Jackson went to a team with more stability. There isn’t anything our coaching staff can do for Jackson.

Lot of talent but a lot of learning curve. I only see him succeeding under a good coach. He’d have been a bust for us because we can’t really develop him.

We need someone who doesn’t need as much tutelage early in his career. Mahomes wouldn’t have been nearly as good for us either, mind you.

Gimme a learning curve over just bad for the sake of bad any day.

 

Personally I think a run heavy team like Jax would be perfect for Jackson. More defenders stacking the box, and the constant threat of him running would give him more open looks than the average rookie QB situation

 

Yeah our offense is stupid though and eventually it would be easy to play contain just like teams did to Tyrod Taylor. The gimmicks would die out quickly and then it’d be a total dice roll as to whether we taught him how to play QB ptoperly or not

I want a better OC and if we can’t have that then we at least need to be drafting QB that are ahead of the curve rather than projects.

 

Like if we had a smart OC I’d be all for Lamar. Shit we might even get good seasons out of Bortles if we had a smart OC

 

You can have a smart OC or an OC that wants Bortles. Can't have both.

If history is any indicator he would also kill Lamar

I'd take Lamar with a dumb OC over Bortles with a dumb OC any day.

Yeah Lamar can improvise. Bortles idea of improvising is somehow throwing a pick six to a 330 pound nose tackle

 

and then falling on his face trying to make the tackle

 

yeah he is worse at tackling than Tom Brady
