okay but i feel like you're missing my point. I'm not talking about Gurley's rookie year. I'm talking about the fact that Gurley is a top five NFL player right now and they drafted him before having their shit together.

Also, Gurley had a pretty consistent rookie season. Don't know what you're talking about.

O-line can be fixed pretty quickly though. Look at the Broncos, they were absolute garbage last year and are now hovering top 5 in run blocking and in the top half of pass blocking

I mean the NFL is the easiest league in terms of quick turnarounds. How many teams miss the playoffs one year and then make it the next? Usually like half

    NBA the WOAT for turnarounds.

You sure about that? Huge drop off after his first games in weeks 5-8.

Todd Gurley 2015 Game Stats Log - Fantasy Football

    His 2016 was a regression from 2015 - he didn’t top 100 yards ONCE

Bottom line is Gurley didn’t change that offense, their offensive line did. And Barkley won’t change the Giants unless they get OL right as well.

He went for 120+ yards in 4 out of his last 5 games so yeah, I'm sure about that.

you still aren't understanding what i'm saying but okay

....no he didn’t, did you even look at those game logs? He topped 100 yards ONCE in the last SEVEN games

You can’t just say I “don’t understand” every time I point out a logical fallacy. You’re saying Barkley was a good pick. I’m saying he only will be a good pick in context IF they do as good a job rebuilding the rest of their offense like the Rams. Which is highly unlikely, the Rams killed it the last few drafts & free agencies.

Barkley was not a good pick in a vacuum.

While this is true from a pass blocking perspective, you're acting like this can't be fixed in one offseason lol

I don't understand how Barkley before a QB is a bad pick but Fournette before a QB is a good pick.

2019 Draft QBs (likely): Lock, Stidham, Finley, Grier

2020 Draft QBs (likely): Herbert, Eason, Fromm, Tua (no specific order)

that is what you'd call...a difference.

Barkley in a vacuum is totally worth a second, but I think you can totally understand why someone would think they should have taken Rosen/Darnold given the importance of the QB and how hard it is to get one.

It’s kind of like reverse logic of fantasy positions lol. Sure, it’s great to have Rodgers or Brady. But you could’ve taken a low-end RB1 in that round instead then gotten Phillip Rivers in round ten.

(Feel free to nitpick the comparison/draft estimates but I think you get the point lol)

You said his rookie season. His rookie season he was a top five RB.

I mean, Barkley is a top five RB rn. Also, you are LITERALLY SAYING WHAT I"M SAYING lol. "If they rebuild like the Rams." That's my entire point. We are criticizing this move as if the best team in the NFL right now didn't do this EXACT thing.

It CAN. But when is the last time the Giants didn’t have a piss poor line? Do you really trust them to get it right? I absolutely do not.

If fixing the line was easy for them they’d have done it already.

Will Hernandez was the best rookie offensive linemen through the first few weeks INCLUDING Nelson. And they've got Nate Solder.

Solder fucking sucks he’s a 35 year old spread offense tackle playing in a dropback offense that requires him
to block longer. He’s been terrible.

Like do you not see yourself grasping at straws haha

Gurley wouldn’t have been a good call either if they didn’t make the moves to take advantage. I think the Rams front office is far better than the Giants

Nice deflection from hard stats in that first sentence

  23. CarpetElf

    benjamin please Prestigious

It's literally not grasping at straws lol. The Rams did this. The Rams are the best team in the NFL right now. It can be done. It has been done. There's literally no argument against it.

  24. CarpetElf

    benjamin please Prestigious

Gurley was a good call though. So that's that haha

Yeah what happened was ESPN reverses their stats lol. So I was looking at it backwards. My bad.

It requires too many other things to go right and the Giants aren’t a good drafting team. That’s a perfectly valid argument. You just don’t like it.
