They seem like a good band to see live but I just never got into them in general. I'll listen to some of their stuff now and enjoy it but it's not really enough to make me a fan of the band. I'm also friendly with Matt Fazzi since I see The Movielife pretty often now in Brooklyn and learning about all the TBS drama leaves a pretty bad taste in my mouth.

 

I saw TBS live in 06, 16, and 18. If you enjoy their records, chances are you’ll enjoy the live show. Adam isn’t the best singer, but he’s not so bad that you notice it when you’re in the crowd singing along.

 

I saw TBS twice during the time TAYF came out and those shows were the best

 

Saw tbs 4 times, was amazing everytime. Adam Lazzara was born to stand on stage.

 

If only he had born to sing on stage, but alas...

 

Oh that’s good he’s playing again. I was just thinking about him and Fred the other day. Was it just John and Sean wanted to come back and they got the boot?

 

Fred and Matt left at different times, didn't they?

I think John and Sean came back after they had already kicked the other guys out. From what I understand they were considering calling it quits before they came back.

The whole situation is really shady. They really did treat Fred and the Matts pretty shitty. The worst was when they did that whole history of the band article with Alternative Press. Eddie kept on talking shit about all three of those guys. It sounded like he had a real ego problem acting like he was the band's founder and the new guys are just hired guns. That article really put the band in a bad light IMO.

 

For shame! Him and Fred were the best songwriters that band had. Too bad they never let Fazzi have much creative control

 

At least they have made up with Fred lately, and they haven’t had any drama since then now (that we know of)

 

Yeah I think a big problem they had with the other guys was they never really vetted them. I remember Rubano basically saying he never even auditioned for the job, he just got a phone call from his mom saying her neighbor's son (Mark) needs a bass player for his band....and a few days later he was a member of TBS lol.

Knowing what we know now, Fred, Rubano and Fazzi all have very different backgrounds/personalities from the rest of the band. They were destined to clash. At least now all 4 guys are childhood friends who know each other very well. I don't ever seeing drama going down with them again.

 

It's cute you guys seem to think Tom's ego is bigger than Mark's.

 

Yeah if I remember correctly, Fred didn’t get along with Matt R. Like very vehemently arguing

Matt Fazzi supposedly began making decisions on behalf of the band and assuming control he didn’t have or something according to them.

Matt R I think was innocent enough

 

Because it is. By miles.

 

People can argue all they want over ego if they really want to ... but going off what we publicly know, it's not even close who's said the more over the top "ego" related things over the years. The press releases I get regularly from TTS make my eyes roll out of my head.

 

That's interesting that you say Fred and Rubano didn't get along......in 2007 I had backstage passes to their Atlantic City show and I ended up chilling with Fred and Rubano for a long while. It seemed like they could only stand each other and hated the other guys lol. In fact I remember just trying to say hello to Adam and Mark and they were absolute dicks.
