I never really got into pop punk honestly. I love blink but that's about it. Brand New and FOB I also love but all their pop punk stuff is my least favorite.

Haha. l'll forever associate them with the disappointment of thinking I'd found a Blink song I hadn't heard, only to hear a whiny voice echo through my lousy PC speakers and realise it was Student Rick... again.

I'd give you the cliffs, but all you need to know is that Jason came in and derailed everything by posting other bands with "iconic riffs" after a handful of people complimented blink's guitar riffs.

Actually, that's almost more detail than necessary. All you need to know is: Jason came in this thread.

  5. That band and Never Heard Of It wanted to be huge so badly and sucked. Hahhaa.

  8. 100% convinced it would just be us.

I think I sit in the Over It and Stryder fan clubs alone.

22 pages later and I haven't caught up.

What's the general consensus? I heard it twice and I dig it.

Holding out until July 1 now.

  10. This band wanted to be so popular. They were like the original Warped Tour hustlers.

This is THE song that got me hooked. They opened for NFG and Thursday in 03 and that song got the crowd fucking jacked.

I am not most people and that album fucking rules.

Another pop punk from non pop punk places...

    Haha. It so is.

  22. From Reddit:
I had really high hopes for this album, but after Rabbit Hole I'm a little skeptical. I feel like blink is going to use the narrative of "oh we're just a pop punk band writing youthful songs" as an excuse (without realizing it or not) to make really disingenious, over produced, formulaic music like the new song. And I don't think anyone wants that as the overlying theme of the new album.

If this was written in 1999 about Enema it would be 100% fitting.

Serious question: Do you have any idea what's been going on with the guys from Over It these days? Runner Runner never took off and has pretty much disappeared, right? Peter Munters dropped some solo tunes awhile back, but I haven't really heard anything beyond that. I'd love to see Over It be a thing again, but I know that it's unlikely.

I genuinely forgot this was a Blink 182 thread because of the early 2000's pop punk RABBIT HOLE we all just climbed down.
