That's true, perhaps it's because of all the talk of old school blink songs that went on before the album. This sounds much more like an older album than BTD or Neighborhoods, but it couldn't fit flawlessly on Enema or w/e was said

Said I'm okay, but I know how to lie.

More "Young London" from AvA. Or actually IT IS "Young London".

I remember hearing a blink record for the first time and getting excited to learn the parts on guitar. So, I guess that makes it "cool," I don't know. I really haven't had that feeling about many blink songs since TOYPAJ though.

Ghost on the Dance Floor is one of my favorite blink songs ever.

  5. Nah, a shitty song doesn't get a pass because of what it was inspired by or it is supposed to be about.

I'll take "bland" and straight forward over shitty faux deep (bad) writing.

Had to google to even see who wrote that ... not surprised ... AVA is horrible top to bottom.

  6. There definitely are some memorable riffs in there. Even the riffs on Up All Night are kinda funky.

    Sleekest of beaks. So Good.

I was singing along the whole time on my third listen of Rabbit Hole. Catchy as hell.

I'm glad Matt didn't walk into the recording studio all like, "Listen dudes, I wanna write songs about skulls, razorblades, fire and the Devil," whereas Tom was like, "Guys, we are writing songs about spaceships, dreamers, astronauts and God."

Matt wrote a ten second riff in Brohemian Rhapsody that is better than any single riff off the last two releases. And I like Neighborhoods alot.

Stereo gum says song is bad and sounds nothing like blink. All they've done is crap on anything blink related

Songs like Damnit, Adams Song, STFK, What's My Again? have stand out guitar parts, no?

First of all, that site is a joke, and two, have they literally heard any blink song ever?

    Things have changed.

To say Blink doesn't have memorable riffs is just ... wrong.

    For starters:
    Dammit
    Carousel
    Dumpweed
    What's My Age Again
    Adam's Song
    Dysentery Gary
    Anthem Pt. 2
    The Rock Show
    Story of a Lonely Guy
    Stay Together for The Kids
    Reckless Abandon
    Feeling This

Zane Lowe talked over the outro, which was one of my favorite parts of the song. Love the contrast between Matt & Mark on this song. Very fun song that I liked a lot after a few unedited listens. Love Matt screaming "the ground" and taking charge of the song for the outro.

    Very fun, I am pleased.

"Natives" is alright. Forgot about that one tbh. I suppose I was being a little too dismissive haha. It's a fine record, just too much of Tom during his least-appealing days.

  19. I mean every blink riff is memorable to me because I have learned every song on guitar

I think "recognizable" is a better word for those riffs.

I swear that "Dammit" is the song every kid tries to learn when they first pick up a guitar. It's unconstitutional to not give it a go!

Ah yea. Good point. I do like that riff, based on the live rips I've heard.

    Things have changed.

It's songs like those that made thousands of kids want to pick up guitars and learn how to play them, so in my book, I'd count that as "known for cool riffs."

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
