I think the worst Coheed song is A Whole Lot of Nothing IV. It’s on arguably their best album and it falls so flat. So disappointing.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I dunno I'd take it over the silence between God Send and Iro Bot tbh

    yeah good okay Prestigious

You won't find their worst song on their first three albums, that's for sure

My only disliked songs are Running Free and Holly Wood. I don't even think I dislike the tracks on Black Rainbow, they just sound bad/awkward

“It’s over, it’s over, it’s all coming apart. While you were sleeping we were stealing your heart.” The Black Rainbow is actually a really good song, it just doesn’t sound quite as big as it could have.

Yeah I'm not big on The Running Free either. It felt so weak after the huge sound that was GA1.

If you ripped the cd of in keeping secrets, it lists the tracks in between the light and the glass and 21:13 as A Whole Lot of Nothing I, A Whole Lot of Nothing II, etc.

In other words, I was just making a bad joke haha.

Guns of Summer is their worst song, it was only written to show off the fact that’s a Chris Pennie was in the band

okay so im not familiar with the story at all, maybe someone who is can answer something im curious about. what exactly is the relationship between the story and the music (not the lyrics)? do song styles match subject matter or is it kind of random? do musical passages advance the story themselves ever? is the relationship between music and story something that has changed in some way over the course of their career?

pennie's drum production is wayyyyyy too industrial for that album.

Great question. The Amory Wars is next on my reading list. I’ll be able to see how the parts of the songs relate to the story afterwards.
