I have to go listen to every single Lydia album now. I cannot believe I'm going to see them and PVRIS on Friday. I can't get over this.

 

Damn all of our dads have cheating pasts! My did that to my mom and his second wife. He cheated on his second wife with my step mom i have now and they've been together for a long time. He suddenly grew up one day it was weird. But I do remember when he was a school janitor when i was little before he made his fortune, and we'd go to the school and have free reign of the gym and computer lab (my step mom worked their too) and his second wife came in screaming to my step mom to not trust him and he was terrible. She then tried to take me and my sister with her and I remember saying "you're not my mom though" and she burst into tears and ran out.

Life is weird.

I realized I was old when my parents auditioned us for who would pull the plug on them if they were brain dead or in a coma and we didn't even know it lol My sister won..she didn't even hesitate haha

 

I've already had to deal with the compartmentalization of certain aspects of my life so I'm fine with being called Daddy. But I wouldn't actually prefer it. I would like, Papa, like I used to call my dad, or Pops.

 

it was a really nasty couple of years. It began a few weeks after my 18th birthday so I was well aware of everything that was happening with all the mud slinging. I don't know if I'm closer with my mom now but we were definitely there for each other and I think we'll both always remember that

 

aw it's nice that it all seemed to work out. My parents are def not happy for each other lol. They're still so petty and bitter even tho both are remarried. I do still hold a grudge against my mom tho oop. Good to know other ppl have messy families haha

 

how did they do this

 

I've straight up asked mom things like "how are you not bitter?" and people see how our family interacts and everything and I live in it and still don't understand it. I've slowly learned that most families are messy. Every one in awhile you come across one that's not and instantly it's like, "So what's actually going wrong here and how do you hide it because our crazy is like a neon billboard."

 

Yeah I def think it's harder to be aware of it all. I was like 12-15 while they were divorcing and it I was old enough to know what was going on but not old enough to cope and I never knew if they were together or apart so it was confusing and I became really depressed. My lil sis on the other hand was like 4 and doesn't remember any of it and I think she's so lucky.

It's awesome you guys had a support system in each other. That's so sweet.

 

My dad has been married 3 times and has kids with four different people. I've never met two of my sisters. Now he pays for billboards about voting biblical values and "traditional marriage" being one man and one woman.

 

It started out talking about my will bc I had just finalized it. Then we were talking about funeral stuff and then they wanted to know what my sister and I would do if we were the only two left and one was in a vegetative state. I said I'd use all the life insurance money to keep her alive for atleast 6 months bc miracles happen and my sister said she'd read me my favorite book (which is what I asked her to do if it ever happened) and then pull the plug when she finished it haha So they liked her answer better than mine and picked her. My parents know I would go broke keeping my dad alive. As of now, I have 0 say so in their lives if they ever get to that stage.

 

I would def be the one chosen to pull the plug between me and my siblings like honestly they don't even need to do a test I think we all know lol

My mom was the one who cheated on my dad. she was a bit of a whore in her 20's. I guess that is what happens when you have a child at 19 years old.

 

Just had to sit through an hour and a half meeting at work about the retirement benefits my job gives me, but those don't start until I've worked there for a year and I have no intention of working there for a year.

But at least they're giving me Friday off so I can go see Thrice.

I don't. I think if people truly give a shit, they'll help. If they ignore me, I follow up.

Like I've been trying to revitalize my blog for some time. I emailed my college's career services and their newspaper. Got an initial response from the career services, but nothing after the follow up. Nothing from the newspaper. I tried regarding SS too, got ignored. They have the fucking nerve to call alumni and ask for donations. Well, you got thousands in tuition. Assholes.

 

There are going to be so many Chorus people at The Tabernacle on Friday.

 

We're organizing a 5k to raise money for my brother in law and I feel like such a bitch proofreading and correcting forms and flyers for it. My fam makes fun of me for being too "academic" and sometimes it makes me feel alienated and I don't think this will help. Like I'm insulting their grammar or something. Also lol at anyone thinking I'm academic cause I'm a mess.

 

It's going to be so excellent.
