Because of the internet and my fandom of rap music, i will never let my children call me daddy tbh.

I haven't spoken to my dad in two years. Things got weird and I can't be bothered. I'm not looking forward to seeing him at a wedding.

I say DEAD-EE for daddy. I don't care about asking my parents for money. My sister won't ask so I help her out with her bills then if I'm struggling I'll ask my parents. My dad slips me money ALL the time though lol I love him.

I'm his only daughter. I've been calling him Daddy my whole life. My mother called her father Daddy until he died 2 years ago. So Its like a thing in my family I guess. I call my mother Mummy (My family is half Welsh/British) so thats a thing too.

My dad called his mom Mother which is still so weird to me. He called his dad H-É which are his initials and what everyone used to call him.

    For me:
    Moms parents- Nannie and granddaddy
    Dad's parents- Memaw and Pawpaw

My parents don't struggle as much as they did when I was growing up but I still see them that way. I remember struggling financially so vividly that I cannot ask them for money. I see my lil sis ask him for money now and it weirds me out cause I'd never have done that. My dad did stuff for me but I never asked him for it or expected it and I think that made me appreciate it more, vs my lil sister who asks for things and gets upset when she doesn't get it

i was pretty close with my dad until the past few years when my parents divorced and stuff. I still love him but I just don't view him the same way anymore

It's so sad how divorce can just completely change family dynamics. I used to be close with my mom and not with my dad, but when they divorced it switched completely. Now I'm a cynical black-hearted child of divorce lol

Being my dad's best man/the only witness when my dad married the woman he had his original affair with 24 years ago was a very weird, surreal experience. But I think it was more important for our relationship that I be there than if I'd held on to any grudges or whatnot... even though they definitely existed for a long while.

I see my parents like once every couple weeks either for dinner or a movie. Probably hang out with my dad next week to go to a new art exhibit.

Call all my grandparents grandma or grandpa. My dads side of the family gets upset if I call my aunts and uncles just by their first name with no "Auntie" or "Uncle" in front of it.

I also tried telling my nephew he could just call me Kyle and he responded "Okay Uncle Kyle sounds good" lol

My parents gave me a few thousand dollars for my custody lawyer last year. I've been paying it done then but no way I could have put up $4000 for the retainer up front. They're also taking my daughter to Disney World in July. So yeah

My dad married his mistress too lol. I'm very close with both of them tho and see her more than I do my actual mom. It's kinda weird when I think about it but it's so normal I don't think about it much. Both of my parents cheated on each other tho so I couldn't hold a grudge unless I like emancipated myself as a tween lol.

I hang out more with my dad because he's not a crazy bitch like my mother. My dad and I will hang out on the back deck, drink craft beers and talk music and what not. I am way more like him than my mother would like me to be. But she gave me my OCD so she should be happy about that. Crazy bitch.

That said there's not much I can relate with my parents on besides my daughter and stuff. When I go to their house if I'm not eating with them I mostly watch tv by myself or with my sister in the other room

It's kinda crazy because they dated off and on from that original affair for like 22 years before it was like, "Oh, maybe we should get married." Once I made sure that my mom was okay (she's the strongest woman I know so the fact she was like, "Yeah. I'm happy for them. I don't want him in my life like that. I'm gonna find something better.") I was able to just be there. I didn't use to like his now wife, but we definitely get along now. We play trivia all together once a week now.
